Old and tired hotel- needs renovation!!

Says they are remodeling, which is great! If that is completed soon, then it'll be a good deal as it's two blocks away from a great part of town. The good: -Great staff! -Clean towels and clean linens! Room for improvement: -A/C didn't work so well. -To turn the hot water on in the shower- the knob was completely stripped- so it required a fair amount of elbow grease. -Carpet in main areas was dirty. -Across the street from a police department.

Reservation disruption

The hotel failed to provided the type of room requested by your package at arrival. A king bed was specified but a narrow double bed was provided. The hotel did make the king available the next day after noon and that meant packing up and moving - a waste of precious time. This is an older hotel with heavy traffic evident in carpeted public areas.

nice inside great area and neighnorhood

Outside could use paint and updating but obviously they've made room upgrades. Bathroom and room clean and updated. Comfortable room for business traveler. Close to museums and downtown locations. I was pleasantly surprised by this place. Pub and grub across the street has great food too.

Perfect for Parkway touring

We stayed only one night, but the room was large, clean; the bed and pillows very comfortable and the staff helpful. A perfect place to stay for museum going.

better than expected.

I expected a typical Best Western experience. I found it to be better than average. Shut up and let them take your money.

Inexpensive and Close

While not the best in shape hotel. There were several problems including peeling wall paper, constant water sounds going through the heating system, a tub that didn't drain, and several electrical outlets that didn't work. The sheets were clean and burn marks as you would typically find in a hotel of this caliber. Nothing too offending.

Good for what it is..

Good location and the free parking is a definite plus. However, the maids apparently don't know how to vaccuum - we had to call the front desk repeatedly to have them clean up stuff that was in the middle of the carpets when we checked in. If you just need a place to sleep, this is pretty good and a decent bargain. Just don't go in expecting top-shelf cleanliness.

Good service, so-so facilities

The staff seems to be doing as well as it can with this aging hotel. The hotel is conveniently located fairly close to downtown and very close to several bus routes. The room was clean, and the staff was responsive to my requests. But the facility seems to be falling apart: the lobby is straight out of the 70s, and the fixtures in my bathroom seemed ready to crumble. Decent value, because it was a pretty inexpensive room, but I'm glad I didn't pay more than I did.

Would never recommend

This hotel was filthy. The elevator carpet was filthy, the room was old and dirty. Bathroom door had caked up dirt on it, the shower was clogged, there was a good amount of mold under the soap dispenser, water rot, mold behind door, chipped tile with poor patch job etc. Worst of all was the unknown yellowish stain on the towel provided. This was disgusting! I will never stay there again and reccommend nobody else does either.
