Great for BASIC hotel staying in the middle of everything

This hotel is excellent for those who like myself like to be in a great location for a fair price, and not too fussy about luxury features. It's a pretty BASIC hotel. It met and exceeded all my expectations. You can not beat this location and with free parking - it is even better. The room was clean and quiet (that's all I needed), everything was working. The only part that wasn't functioning well was the tub - the drain was very slow. The stuff was very friendly and efficient with all my demands, and dresses nicely and classy. Overall a very pleasant experience, will stay over and over again.

Close to Everything

A clean hotel that has a bit of a "patina". It's fairly old but for the price was a good value. It was within 2 to 3 miles of nearly everything I wanted to see. I went in the winter and the weather was bad or I would have walked nearly everywhere. The parking is good and is free. The work out area is pretty small with ony 4 pieces of equipment. The staff was always very polite.

Third world youth hostel with great location

Wow, this hotel is dirty! If you have a sense of adventure and some good humor its kind of fun to stay here. There is a sense of camaraderie with other guests as if you are all surviving together. Staff is inattentive and seems mildly annoyed at your requests. The carpet is mature, like 30 years old and rarely cleaned. The elevator is often broken and when it works its slooowww!! never been in a slower elevator! The only plus is location, the location is fantastic for museums:)

Old and tired hotel- needs renovation!!

Says they are remodeling, which is great! If that is completed soon, then it'll be a good deal as it's two blocks away from a great part of town. The good: -Great staff! -Clean towels and clean linens! Room for improvement: -A/C didn't work so well. -To turn the hot water on in the shower- the knob was completely stripped- so it required a fair amount of elbow grease. -Carpet in main areas was dirty. -Across the street from a police department.

nice inside great area and neighnorhood

Outside could use paint and updating but obviously they've made room upgrades. Bathroom and room clean and updated. Comfortable room for business traveler. Close to museums and downtown locations. I was pleasantly surprised by this place. Pub and grub across the street has great food too.

Inexpensive and Close

While not the best in shape hotel. There were several problems including peeling wall paper, constant water sounds going through the heating system, a tub that didn't drain, and several electrical outlets that didn't work. The sheets were clean and burn marks as you would typically find in a hotel of this caliber. Nothing too offending.

Good service, so-so facilities

The staff seems to be doing as well as it can with this aging hotel. The hotel is conveniently located fairly close to downtown and very close to several bus routes. The room was clean, and the staff was responsive to my requests. But the facility seems to be falling apart: the lobby is straight out of the 70s, and the fixtures in my bathroom seemed ready to crumble. Decent value, because it was a pretty inexpensive room, but I'm glad I didn't pay more than I did.

Would never recommend

This hotel was filthy. The elevator carpet was filthy, the room was old and dirty. Bathroom door had caked up dirt on it, the shower was clogged, there was a good amount of mold under the soap dispenser, water rot, mold behind door, chipped tile with poor patch job etc. Worst of all was the unknown yellowish stain on the towel provided. This was disgusting! I will never stay there again and reccommend nobody else does either.
