Best Western Center City Hotel - ok

The hotel was in a good location for us, that was the best thing about it. You wouldn't stay here for the ambiance, it's kind of old-school and dark. The staff could be friendlier, but that was ok. The worst thing - and we could't believe this - was that the housekeeping staff was banging on doors in our hall at 8:30 in the morning on SUNDAY, yelling, "Housekeeping! Do you want your room done?" Um, no - we were sleeping...I mean, really? I would recommend it with reservations - ok for the price and location.

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

Went to McCrossen's (sp.?) Tavern for breakfast the next morning - short walk, just a couple blocks. Nice place, good beers on tap. Used urban spoon on the Iphone to find it; there a lot of good-looking restaurants nearby.

not too good

very old a/c system, could not sleep at all, the fan was blowing the humid air right at the bed, could not breathe. felt myself like a dog on a hot day which stick its head out of a car window. but the room was clean, which is rare for this price. over all it's good for one night place to crash, but not if you need a place to rest and go to a very important meeting next morning.

No hot water for 3 days!

We paid $107 a night not including taxes for two nights. There was no hot water for just about our entire trip as the heater was broken. After complaining several times we were told they were working on it. Hot water returned late on our second night. We decided to stay one more night and they discounted our room by $60 dollars due to the inconvenience. Staff was very nice! Also no refrigerator or microwave in room. Hotel has "old" feel to it. My husband stayed here 10 years ago and he said it was the same. Also no free breakfast and breakfast buffet and continental breakfast seemed expensive. Free parking is a plus also!

Not amazing, but definitely stayable

The location wasn't bad, the Rocky statue was right across the street, and the Wawa convenience store was night to have right there as well. We went for the bars and nightlife in Philly. It wasn't very convenient to them, we took cabs, but the cab ride was never more than $15 so it really wasn't that bad. There were no refrigerators in the room. Not an amazing hotel, but if you're going to party in Philly it's worth the stay.
