Nothing of note

They all look the same when you're asleep. It's clean, the bed is comfortable enough to sleep on. You can get anywhere you need to get easily from the location. The decor was last updated in 1978. I had a couple of friends visiting, and I live across the street. There are less expensive options out there in Center City, but the location was my only decision.

The bar was last updated in 1978. It looks creepy, but it had a couple of good beers, surprisingly.

If you are not concerned with

If you are not concerned with luxury, and you have location and budget in mind, then this is the hotel for you. Just a 5-minute walk to the Philadelphia Art Museum and other attractions, along with free parking and free internet, as well as a on-site bar, make this hotel a no brainer.

Oh boy!

We were visiting family in Philadelphia. We usually have been satisfied with Best Western and when we couldn't get the hotel we like (there was a BIG Phillies baseball game that weekend), we made reservations there. The whole place needs updating desperately. It appears shabby and not very welcoming. The staff was not tripping over each other to provide good service either! The walls were paper thin and they are not paying much attention to water conservancy either -- the shower almost blew us over! The bed (a king) was very uncomfortable and needed to be replaced. Too bad, it's a great location -- right in the middle of the museum district and close to downtown. I think we will avoid Best Western for awhile -- maybe Best Western will get the hint.

Clean but older hotel, rowdy and loud

We stayed on a Saturday Night in October. There were very loud parties going on until the early hours of the morning, management did nothing to quiet the parties. I tried to call the front desk to complain, no one answered. Around 2 in the morning, someone pulled the fire alarm and everyone had to go outside until the fire dept. arrived. After the fire dept cleared everyone to go back inside, the loud parties resumed. Overall, not a great experience.

Stay was OK

Staff was very helpful and pleasant at checkin and giving me directions. I had business at Center City and didn't want to pay $250 and up for a hotel. Although the hotel is very old and worn out, I slept fine in the bed and got a good night's sleep. I walked had an easy 20minute walk to downtown and everything worked out fine. All in all, I was satisfied with my stay.

Great location, so so hotel.

Check in was a breeze, and the staff was friendly and polite. But when I got to my room it was tiny, with so much furniture, a desk, three chairs, cabinet with a TV set, (No cable?), chest of draws and a night stand by the bed. Why so much furniture, lined up against the walls, in such a small, small room? It was also very warm inside. It was a warm day so I wasn't surprised. But after the A.C. which was set to 55 degrees ran for a few hours, why was it still so warm? The bed was very clean and neat, but not comfortable, this was just a stop along my journey so I decided not to stay the night and continue on. It was a waste of good money.

Short stay

We originally purchased a room with a full size bed, when we arrived for check in the lady at the desk upgraded us for no charge to a king size bed! It was very close to a lot of attractions including different museums. Walking was optional and cabs were only 10 minutes from Independence hall. The room we stayed in was clean but when you took a deeper look the crown molding on the ceiling and the baseboards didn't match up to the walls creating gaps. Most of this was in the bathroom but you could also see gaps where the drop ceiling was old and worn out. We did see a spider or two which usually means other bugs were present. There were no batteries in the remote and we had to search for a 'do not disturb' sign. The bartender in the hotel bar did stay open a little while longer to pour us some drinks which was nice and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Don't wast your time on the buffet breakfast downstairs it was wayyy overpriced for a do-it-yourself breakfast. Overall If I was trying to save some money and just passing through I'd stay there again.

Nightlife tip: Short walk from hotel

The police station is one block up the road. If you like pizza and Stromboli walk down that road and pick a place, they are all over and very good!!!
