Eclectic

The staff at the front desk was very friendly and check in was fast and efficient. If you are expecting a typical hotel room, this in not the place for you. But if you dare to be adventurous and like European styled rooms(highly efficient and on the small side), this is the place for you. The lobby is welcoming with a very cozy bar complete with a pool table. The indoor pool is heated. Although, there is no jacuzzi which is always a disappointment. The fitness center had top of the line equipment and was very clean. The room did not waste space and every thing was perfect. The bed was very comfortable with down pillows and comforter ensuring a good night's sleep. Noise was not a factor in this hotel. Shuttle service available to nearby Philadelphia airport. Our only complaint is that we called for additional towels and were told they would be sent up. A half hour later, we had not received them. We called again, she apologized and said she was sending someone right up. Fifteen minutes later, we went and got our towels ourselves.

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

There are only two dining choices within walking distance...one at the Four Points Sheraton or the Sheraton Suites. Both have limited menus, but the food is tasty. There is a pay and go set up at the Aloft if you just want something quick and no frills.

Great Room and Atmosphere

This was one of the coolest hotels and rooms I ever stayed in. The modern interior design was really pleasing to the eye and the customer service was great. Being a young couple who still enjoys the fun of nightlife we found the XYZ lounge appealing and the outdoor patio relaxing and enjoyable.

Aloft..Aclub

I really wanted to love this hotel. I have a thing for trendy hotels and was pleased to see this option near the airport since I needed something close to there. The concept of the hotel was great, but the place just wasn't clean. When I walked into the lobby, it looked like it hadn't been vacuumed in a few days. The layout of the room was excellent, but again, I wasn't so sure it was clean, but the bed seemed fine. My biggest complaint was that when I came back to the hotel that night, there was a huge party in the lobby. It had somehow turned into a nightclub. This wouldn't have bothered me so much if I didn't have to hear the music in my room or people wandering loudly in the hallways (I was on the 3rd floor). I'm young and I like hip hop, but this was wild. I've never complained at a hotel before, but I had to because I was exhausted. The front desk staff was very helpful (and the only reason this place gets 3 stars) and were willing to give me half off the room. BUT, because I booked a package deal with Orbitz, I was unable to get it. Talk about a loss. I would try other Aloft hotels, but I wouldn't stay at this one....and I'm not sure I would book an Orbitz pacakge deal

My February stay- the airport shuttle wa

The airport shuttle was a constant pain throughout my three days. There were 3 of us flying in and out. The shuttle was always late to the hotels and once dropped us off at the departure versus arrival terminal. explaining we were in the right place, causing us to walk a great distance to the other terminal.

Total "toss up"

The Aloft hotel concept is definitely not your typical "cookie cutter" hotel. It's a concept that I have never seen before. It was originally my husband's idea to stay at the Aloft because of the simple fact that it was different, out of the norm. The idea of not having room service in the hotel I can live with. But not having a restaurant within the hotel is different to say the least. We were lucky enough to have a single cup coffee/tea maker in the room with a small refrigerator. The coffee packets that were provided was lacking flavor and most definitely not something I would ever drink again. It's fine if you're not a "coffee person". But if you need a little pick me up in the a.m. or later in the day, then I would suggest bringing your own coffee "pods" or going elsewhere for coffee. The staff was definitely friendly, almost to the point where you questioned the authenticity of it all. At times, it seemed as though they were overly friendly. The bed was uncomfortable and hard. It hurt our backs, we went to bed one way and waking up completely in pain. My back is still hurting from it! The shower is small, but it served it's purpose. The bonus was the wall mounted Bliss shower products. I packed my own shampoo and conditioner, not thinking that I was going to be pleasantly surprised. The towels provided by the hotel were thick, but seemed as though they were starched like no one has ever starched them before. They were stiff and hurt to use. The decor is definitely again, not your typical "cookie cutter" style. The sink was like something in a home and garden magazine. There was a full sized blow dryer, that was powerful and did a great job drying my hair. The pool was so-so, it wasn't anything spectacular. The outdoor patio was also decorated in a funky style as well. The lounge and bar area were small and didn't exactly represent what the website portrayed itself to be. No loss there, we aren't drinkers and we didn't care to mingle with the few patrons that were there. There was a DJ on Saturday night, as the clerk at the check in counter informed us there would be. The music was louder than it was the day before, so loud that we heard the music over our tv, on the 3rd floor! The roads are set up much differently than they are where we live in NY. There are some places where you should be able to make a u-turn but can't. There are no restaurants nearby that we saw, only fast food places. There were 2-3 adjacent hotels in the same plot of land as the Aloft, which was interesting. The ticket booth was very user friendly. The whole time we were there, we never saw an attendant sitting inside the booth. The hallways were clean and vacuumed, unlike the previous reviews we read about this particular hotel. Besides having a small plaza that had a Shop Rite grocery store, Rent-A-Center, Avenue (plus size women's clothing), and of course the fast food places we all know; there wasn't anything else that struck our fancy. In order to find some good shopping, we drove 20-25 minutes to King of Prussia mall. There were so many stores there, I have never seen anything like this mall before. It took pretty much the whole day for us to cover the entire mall. Good exercise though!! We did go to Chinatown in PA, which was a bit disappointing. There wasn't as many shops as I would've have expected for an area as large as Philly. I've seen bigger Chinatowns in NYC, Boston and Toronto. Unless, you were there for tourist type places like the historical areas, that particular location didn't provide easy access to much. The front desk staff informed us that the closest mall was in Cherry Hill Township, NJ. Granted, NJ isn't that far from PA, but how come there was nothing closer in that area? The airport was right across the street. We didn't hear any airplanes take off or land, which was a good thing. After having spent the whole day at King of Prussia mall, all we wanted to do was to get into the hotel roo...

20-25 minutes from the Aloft is the King of Prussia mall in King of Prussia, PA. If you're looking for some retail therapy, then the King of Prussia mall is the what the Dr. ordered.

I'm so sorry

The ALOFT was very disappointing in that there was no bellboys to help with bags. The clerk was paying more attention to her friend standing at the front desk than the guess. The tempeture in the room was cold, when I complain to the front desk the clerk spoke as if I did not have a brain in my head.

Super-nice & modern :-)

Heating sytem was EXCELLENT. Aloft is just a few minutes from the airport, which was great b/c I had an early flight to catch. I didn't have time to take a dip in the pool, but it looked nice, & the exercise room looked nice as well. The lobby had just enough to keep you entertained--pool table, bar, & tele. Shuttle service was convenient. :-) Well, that's about all I have to say about the Aloft hotel. I just may stay in it again if I'm in town for more than 8 hours. :-)

Great Relaxing Getaway

The aloft Philadelphia Airport is definitely the place to stay to unwind. After a long business day, this hotel offers a great bar and lounge area. There isn't a restaurant onsite, but they do offer sandwiches, snacks, and other goodies. The rooms are quiet - I never heard hallway noise or doors slamming. The staff was polite, and available for whatever was needed.
