hotels that seem to have given thought to youe every need. Its located in downtown Philadelphia just off the entertainment and shopping areas. Its only minutes away from the Avenue of the Arts Pennsylvania Convention Center S Antique Row and the Historic Independence Hall area. A warm and friendly hotel where good taste and artwork abounds. Its rooms are designed to reflect the great ships of the 30s in the fabrics furnishing and decor. The amenities one expects are all there from large fluffy towels to hari dryers. Their television offerings are several complimentary movie channels plus sports and many other favorites. In addition there is a fitness center a complimentary guest e-mail computer center. A large breakfast buffet that is complimentary includes fresh beaked goods as well as yogurt cereals and more. With discounted nearby indoor parking very reasonable rates and a staff of friendly employees its become the favorite of many travellers.

Center City Value

Mid-week stay for business. Staff was friendly at check-in and all throughout the stay. Complimentary breaskfast was nice, although a hot option would have been even better as the temperatures were bitterly cold during the week. The room was small, as advertised, but had flat screen TV and bed was comfortable. Would stay here again!

Boutique hotel lives up to label

Alexander Inn has the personalized touches that I would expect from a "boutique hotel". It appears to me that much care went into decorations. My room with a twin bed was large enough for me. The Great Room off the lobby is comfortable for hanging out. There is an exercise room and computers in the basement. The breakfast has plenty of selections. The staff was always friendly and helpful. The location is good with the 23 bus stopping across the street.

Downtown Philadelphia

Nice small hotel. Class act. It was the second-lowest priced hotel within .7 miles of the convention center. Comes with breakfast, gym and internet access. The guy behind the registration desk was very helpful and referred us to a great French restaurant, the Zinc (I have no idea why it's called that) on 11th Street north of Spuce Street.

Ideal center city location

The staff was extremely helpful. Hotel is pristine clean. Though small, the room had everything I needed. It might be a little too small for two people. The Alexander Inn reminds me of a European property. No glitz, attentive treatment, solid management. The location was ideal for my needs.

Satisfied Guest

Very pleased with the house staff (front desk, parlor/breakfast room, house-keeper). All were very professional, cordial, attentive without being solicitous. I plan on staying there again on my next trip in the near future.

Great location and value

This was my second stay at the Alexander Inn in a couple of years. I liked it very much the first time I stayed there in 2007. It's even better now. The management is excellent, and I was able to check in early even though they had been sold out the previous night. The staff is very professional and efficient, friendly and helpful if you have questions about what to do or where to go, but they allow you your privacy too. The hotel is on a quiet block but within easy walking distance (about 10 minutes, or less than a dozen blocks) of the subway, the Italian market area, Reading Market and the Convention Center, and it's just a little farther to the Liberty Bell area. The hotel offers a free breakfast, although I didn't take advantage of that on this visit since I was going out for brunch with friends. I traveled by myself and stayed in one of the small rooms (just a single twin bed) on the top floor, but it was very clean, with thoughtfully arranged functional furniture, and a lovely view out the window. I would have been happy to pay almost half again as much they charged me ($99 + tax), it seemed like such a great value. I will definitely stay there again.
