Affordable Lancaster base with family fun water park

Excellent Family Vacation!
We booked the Budget Host Inn & Suites because of the Caribbean Indoor Waterpack that is adjacent to the hotel. Our room was beautiful and most recently renovated. The hallways look like their just repainted them and there was some areas that they had taken up the old carpet and working on putting new carpet down. The waterpark was fabulous and fun for the kids and adults. We all had a great family vacation since we did not get a chance to go anywhere during the Christmas vacation.

Caribbean Indoor Waterpark great for families with kids. Nice and warm inside. Outlet shopping stores only a few blocks from this hotel

Nicely Renovated !!
We had been staying at this hotel for past 3 years. On this most recent trip we noticed that the hallway carpet was new and the hallway walls were being painted. Our room had new furniture, business desk and chair, flat screen tv, coffee maker, microwave, sofa bed, refrigerator, also the bed had new bedspread, skirt, and pillows. The renovations definately showed and it looked great.

Excellent Rennovations !
Our stay at the Budget Host Inn & Suites was excellent. The hotel was clean and the staff very friendly. Our room was very modern. Noticed the new furniture and bedding skirt and bed spreads were all new since our last visit last year. We spoke to staff and found out that the hotel is under new management and was being improved. The hotel location was excellent for us to do shopping.

Okay for the location.
Receptionist gave the most awful directions to find the room which was located behind the pool. Kept saying go through first door it just right there, when you had to go past the pool then through two doors and down a hallway. There was chlorine smell in the room from the pool. Seemed like the pool was the entire intent of the hotel. Not why we were there. It served the purpose of providing a bed for the night.

The hotel was the worst part of the trip.

Only if you're Desperate
Stayed overnight for trip to Lancaster. The hallway had a gross smell, but the room did not smell...pretty dirty though. First thing we did was check for bedbugs (none). No tissues in bathroom, only one trashcan. Was terrified to even touch the bedspread. Carpet was filthy. I realize this is not a 4 star hotel, but a little cleanliness is not too much to ask. Neighborhood is definitely "the hood"...shell out a few more dollars and stay somewhere nicer, this was no bargain.

Good Value
This is an older motel, but it was a very good stay. [...] the desk clerk was extremely helpful and gave me excellent detailed directions to where my meeting was. She went up and beyond the call of duty.I would recommend this motel to anyone wanting to stay in the Lancaster area.
