The Hotel Hershey and Spa

The staff was friendly and the room was beautifully decorated but it was very small (so much so my husband and I had to take turns walking between the bed and dresser), the heating system was antiquated and we were unable to turn the heat down so we spent the night in a hot, stuffy room, unable to sleep. The cleaning crew started cleaning other rooms in our hall at 8:00 a.m. on Sunday morning and since there was very little, if any, insulation, we could hear every word they said while they were in the hallway outside our room. It would have been nice to sleep in while on vacation but that was impossible with all the talking, doors closing, and cleaning cart wheels squeaking right outside the door. The room was very expensive and nothing is included except a chocolate bar. Disappointing.

check in disappointing room located in 529 all the way at the end of the hotel. room card did not unlock room despite multiple attempts. asked housekeeper's assistance who let me in room. unpacked and made business phone calls. went to dinner and stopped at desk to request new card. informed that she wrote wrong room number on my check in. wanted to change my room despite my already being unpacked. i chose to stay at spa to use workout facility and squeeze some relaxation in only to find that fitness center does not open until 6:30am and my daily sessions started at 7am thus preventing me from working out. I stopped in fitness center at dinnertime on MOnday to ask if there was anywhere I could work out at 5am and man said no but found out next day when I left that walking trail was available and would have been useful alternative to gym

Hotel grounds are beautiful. Staff friendly. Overall a pleasent trip. Room was too small and had no views. For $400 a night expected a lot more. Outside Pool was great, indoor small and crowded ay night given that half the pool is not used due to depth. Fitness center was nice. The fountain lobby with Spanish decoration is very interesting and a great place to unwind. As you check in, they give you a chocolate bar which was very soft. You would think they can put these bars in a small fidge during the summer time. The ice skating rink was a big joke. They tell you to put on ice skate and slide across a white plastic flooring ??? They should close it in the summer time.

Do not waste money. I would rather stay at the Hershey Lodge. The rooms were larger and more plush, the hotel itself was so much nicer. The food at the Hershey was only ok. My husband and I enjoyed the Lodge much better!!!!!!!! The only good comment I can make is the staff at both Hershey hotels are wonderful.
