We moved from Hershey Lodge to the Hotel

When we drove up to the Lodge I knew immediately I did not want to stay there. This weekend was a special mother/daughter weekend I wanted something other than a motel. It looked like a "nice motel." The way the lodge was set up and the room itself did not off er what I expected. The good part was there was no problem switching to the hotel without any monetary issues. The hotel was a Five Star in every way! The difference in price was well worth it.

nice hotel but the food was not good

The hotel overall was very nice. The rooms were clean and the kids really enjoyed the indoor pool. I was disappointed with the food at the restaurant inside the hotel. The service was very slow and the food was not tasty. You are better off eatin off the premises.

If you are looking for some good food where you can also take the kids then I recommend the Hershey Pantry. It was delicious!

Spend the xtra $ and do Hershey Hotel

Considering it was a Hershey Property it was not very kid friendly. We stayed in the off season so I realize that there would not be as many activities as in the summer but the few things they did have were not great. They promised Hershey character greetings but after waiting around 30 minutes we were told there was no one to do it. The "heated" indoor pool was freezing, and the hot tub wouldn't let anyone under 14 even dangle their feet in the water. The game room ripped us off about $4.00 worth of quarters as well. The staff in general was just not very friendly.

Entertainment tip: In Hotel

Everything is close by. Just park your car and you can catch the shuttle to the park, museum, gardens, or you can enjoy making your own s'mores near a campfire right on the grounds, swimming in one of three pools or park yourself in the lobby and enjoy a drink or fancy coffee. It was great.

Good but Expensive

The hotel was good, however for the price it should have had reserved parking space and complimentary breakfast. You get very little discount to hershey park tickets and you get to enter there 1 hour earlier than everyone else but it doesnt have much value because only 2 or 3 rides are open. Complimentary tickets to the museum wich no one ask for tickets at the entrance. And complimentary tickets to Hershey Gardens they were beautiful.

Great for a short trip!

The hotel was very clean. The registration went very smoothly and the personnel was excellent. The concierge was rude to us but wwe overlooked this and wrote about this on our exit survey. The restaurants were very kid friendly. The gift shop is great! We love this hotel! Chocolate is every where from the breakfast buffet to the cashier at the restaurants!

Good place with kids

We stayed there to visit Hershey Park and the other sights around. The room was comfortable, but not extravagant. Very clean and personable housekeeping staff. The mattress was way too soft and sort of lumpy. Otherwise the room was fine. The restaurant staff were wonderful. They let slightly older children still order from the Kids Menu. Lots of wikki stix and other toys for the kids to play with. And a great martini, too (chocolate of course). Lots of choices in restaurants. Nightly activities included making samoahs, watching movies, etc. three pools to swim, shuttles to the parks.
