very good experience. All employees were nice and went out of their way to be helpful. The hotel was excellent. The food in the restaurant was pricey, but pretty good.I guess it's what one would call "eclectic", which to me means it looks fancy, it's expensive , and there isn't much of it.... room service was excellent. the only thing advice I would want to give the Wyndam is that there should be adequate signage on how to exit their parking lot and get back on York Rd. without circling around through all the loops and lots. They DO need more signs to direct one out of the complex in an expedited manner.

Sightseeing tip:
Short drive from hotel
Stay as close to the center of town as possible. You can walk anywhere , restaurants, shops, and the bus will pick you up anywhere along there for free and take you to all the battlefield specific sites and visitor center where you can get a tour guide. It was difficult for me to decide exactly who to call for a guide. It is easier to let someone take you around ....Start at the Visitors center. They will help you with everything if you want to get the most out of your visit there.

excellent hotel and staff
the staff and the facility could not be better ,with the exception of including a microwave and fridge in the room. I realize they want you to patronize the restaurant, but, those two items would make this property perfect!

Good room but Oh so far away
Room was very clean and large, can't fault it. We requested and received a handicap room, but I don't know what that means because there were no close handicap parking spaces and our room was as far away from the elevator as possible ( a long way ).

Great weekend in Gettysburg
White House Dinner with Walter Scheib and an evening with the Presidents of Mount Rushmore on Friday evening. Both were fantastic! Spent Saturday roaming around Gettysburg and back to the Majestic Theatre for an evening with a jazz band and Bob Newhart. Still Awesome at 81 years of age. Our breakfasts and dinner at the hotel restaurant were delicious and our servers were extremely pleasant and efficient.

2nd visit***loved it!
I keep an eye on this hotel because eventhough some times, it is rather expensive, it does have some really good deals sometimes. It is definately worth it. We walked to the movies. Shopping was a short distance and the hotel still has a sence of privacy where it is located. The kids love it.

Weekend Traveller
Wyndham in Gettysburg
We were in the Gettysburg area for Thanksgiving. We typically stay at another local property but we got a great deal through [...] so we decided to give the Wyndham a try. The property is conveniently located right off the 15 freeway and next to two restaurants and a movie theater. The property is fairly new and is beautifully decorated. The lobby is spacious with a nice sitting area. We had a King size bed in a room for two. We were disappointed that there was not a microwave or refrigerator in the room. The room was nicely decorated and was of average size.We found the bed to be uncomfortable and didn't sleep very well. The noise from the hallway was very easily heard through the door. Our room overlooked a building roof so all we could see was the rooftop and buildings in the distance.I used the fitness facility and found it to be very well equipped with treadmills, elypticals, bikes, free weights and a universal weight machine. There was also an adjoining pool and hot tub. I tried the hot tub and the jets were very weak and the water was luke warm. The next day I saw an "Out of Order" sign on the hot tub so that may have been part of the problem.I don't think we will stay here again because of the bed. Other than the bed, the hotel was very nice.

Short walk from hotel
We ate at the Old Eagle one night for dinner and I was not impressed. This is the restaurant across from the hotel. The food was average and the price was a bit expensive for what we got. I wouldn't recommend the restaurant.

Good location--nice hotel
Close to everything. Better than staying in town because of the town noise. Free parking and very quiet rooms. Only a few minutes from battlefield and visitor center. Restaurants close by. Hotel serves a nice buffet or sit down breakfast. Have stayed there before and would stay again.
