The Red Carpet Inn in Gettysburg...you get what you pay for. Linens were clean, but thin..bedspread had holes underside. When we arrived on Friday there were dead bugs around the sink (from the air conditioning unit). On Saturday they were still there after they cleaned the room..so we got rid of them. I must admit that the people who run it were very pleasant. They did provide a microwave and refridge for us.

We ate at the Old Fairfield Inn in Fairfield on Saturday night. Food was great, service too, and reasonablly priced.

Great Hotel for a Great Price
Great stay. I went for the Gettysburg battle re-enactment and just neededa place to crash for the night. Really nice, clean room, with a great mattress, cool air-conditioning, and a good TV.

eh not too bad...
First of all, the location is only a few miles away from the battle field and very easy to get to and from. This hotel was your ordinary motel experience. It was cozy and managers were very nice and friendly. However, there were no extra blankets (my boyfriend and I were freezing) and only one little packet of shampoo and no conditioner. The place was clean but not enough to make me walk on the carpet with bare feet and did make me wonder if the "comforter" (not much thicker than a bed sheet) had been washed. Overall, it was a pleasant enough stay and what should be expected from a cheap motel type place. If your not picky about the quality (my boyfriend had no worthy complaints and wouldnt mind staying there again) or short on cash (or wait till the last minute to book a hotel room for the reenactments and this is the only place available...which did happen to me) than this is a great place for you.

clean and friendly
The hotel is very clean and simple. The owners were great, friendly and accomodating. The location is very quiet but still close enough to the historic attractions. The price is just right.

Owners Who Care
The hotel is owned and run by a couple from India. They were very polite even though we arrived in the middle of the night. Although the rooms are small, they are very clean. The room did not have a coffee pot as advertised but it did have a microwave and refrigerator. They also had fresh coffee in the office and a soda machine. The hotel is a little outside of the action so you get a ahort few minute drive past the battlegrounds which helps to build excitement for whatever you choose to do in the town. We also got a decent AARP discount.

There is a Gettysburg tourist website where you can access some valuable coupons. Also do not let the size of an attraction deter you. Many gems are the smaller museums and exhibits. If you are interested in the paranormal then the Farnsworth House is up your alley. Our experience was haunting!

so-so stay
had to pay for ice from the machine. no extra blankets in room. did not leave any extra soap or shampoo when did room service.

good the bad and very ugly
no toilet paper,stink bugs all over room,no electric,and no fitted sheets on beds.manager was very rude...and was no free breakfast,manager was trying to charge extra for stinky room.
