So-So

Would not recommend Mon, Sep 22, 2014
The staff is friendly and out-going. The location is nice. However, this property is in need of serious and complete upgrades. The bed and pillow in my room were extremely uncomfortable. The former felt like a slab of concrete while the latter like a bag of cat litter.

Gettysburg battlefield

Would recommend Mon, Aug 4, 2014
We didn't stay very long (one night and we got in late and left early). The lobby/common areas were clean and well lit. The hotel itself isn't air conditioned but the rooms all have individual air conditioning units. They were a bit loud when on full but once the room cooled, the low setting was fine. Rooms were clean, lighting was fair. The shower was hot and great water pressure - great shower. We didn't interact with the staff much so gave them an average score. The price was ~$50/night cheaper than lots of places in the area and 10 minutes from downtown Gettysburg. I will definitely come back on my next visit.

Attractions

Went to visit the Gettysburg battlefield. Great trip for me and the kids loved it. Amazing history.

A short drive to Gettysburg NMP

Would recommend Tue, Jul 22, 2014
We stayed here while hiking & touring Gettysburg NMP. The hotel was clean and safe - bedding was dated. Staff was courteous and quick to respond to requests. For the price, I would stay again.

Attractions

Buy the audio tour from the Gettysburg NMP book story and drive to each of the locations - then park age get out to walk/hike in the footsteps of history

Its age is showing, feet turn black after walking on carpet. Hotel had musty smell to it.

The rooms and place needs some serious updating and were not very clean overall. Wallpaper is peeling, carpet was dirty and had a iron burn in floor.

Needs updating, spend less on pool area and more on cleaning/ updating rooms

Would not recommend Sun, May 4, 2014
Front lobby area was awesome, entrances were not labelled well, sign for rooms was misleading, room had musty smell and patio door was foggy, bathroom faucet was coming off sink, towels were dingy and needed to be replaced, restaurant was overpriced and average.

Nasty, dirty

Would not recommend Tue, Apr 29, 2014
The worst stay at a hotel ever. Just so dirty. Stains all on the floor. It looks like it hasn't been cleaned or remodeled since the 80s. I paid over $130 for a night. I shouldn't have even paid $30. I'd rather sleep in a car. Don't stay here,it's really bad

When we went to check in there was no record of our reservation. Even though the hotel was booked for the night they were able to upgrade to a suite at no extra charge.

Decent Value for Your Dollar

Would recommend Tue, Oct 22, 2013
The biggest disappointment with this hotel is what it could be. If they fixed the jacuzzi (permanently closed up), the fountain the atrium (doesn't look like it's held water in years), upgraded the tired old mattresses and thin sheets, and turned the temperature up in the pool by about 5 degrees ... this place could be a four star. It isn't. It's clean, the folks are friendly, and the go-kart track next door is fun. Skip the over-priced 'Richard's Restaurant' on site. Both our steak and shrimp were past their prime.

Money saver

The at hotel pick-up for the trolley service that runs throughout historic Gettysburg is a stress-free, no parking required enjoyable option.

Absolutely horrendous

Would not recommend Sun, Sep 22, 2013
Our experience was completely horrendous: we've never stayed in a hotel this bad. The ceiling in the hallway was drop-tile and one of the tiles were actually missing, with lots of damage to the surrounding tiles. In our actual room, there were also several discolored, water-damaged tiles that had obviously been there a long time. We could hear water leaking from upstairs and it was obvious why: when we took our showers, the shower curtain wasn't water-repellent and all the water came right through the curtain, forming a huge puddle of water that probably leaked through to the next floor down. There was also a leak in the roof over the pool, and other places: in general an extremely poorly-maintained facility. They get away with some good reviews because there's a "new" building that's not as bad, but it was full with a wedding when we visited. And we did check it out: it's somewhat better but still far from acceptable. The place smelled musty and moldy (no wonder, from all the water issues). The room itself seemed to be clean, saying something for the housekeeping staff's efforts, as it can't be easy to keep that place tidy. The management's only reaction to our complaints was to put a trash can under the leak in the hallway. Two words: STAY AWAY.
