A fine hotel

This hotel is not the greatest, but it is not that bad either. I think it has a poor rating because no one is impressed with it enough to give it five stars, but occasionally people have bad experiences and give it 1. It just your standard hotel. The furnishings are a bit old and nothing is high quality, but the facilities are not in disrepair nor dirty. If you are just looking for a place to sleep for a night or two, it serves adequately.

Probably will never go back.

When we arrived in the first room they gave us. The beds had never been made or the room cleaned from previous guests. The room we ended up in was not very clean. The bathroom floor was gritty, there was something red on the wall and floor that looked like blood and the toilet did not look cleaned. The person at the counter was very nice and helpful. The next morning when I turned the keys and complaints slip in the person did not even look at the card. Just took the key and card, said drive safe and went in the back. The rest of our trip was excellant.

the good and the bad

I stayed at this hotel while on a job interview. It was reasonably priced, and the drive into town was easy. The desk receptionist and housekeeping employees were very friendly. Though the lobby was nice, most of the other areas were in need of renovation and/or upgrades. The rooms and bathrooms were a little retro with a slight odor; the pool tiles needed some cleaning and repair; and the entire large piece of property had the feel of someone's failed big dream. It did not come with a continental breakfast and the "lounge" dining was expensive. There was no refrigerator or microwave. This facility met my needs, and I saw families with children enjoying the pool. For the price, I would stay there again.

There was a detour approaching the hotel from the south off of Route 15. Call ahead for directions to avoid the very inconvient detour.

A little outdated, but charming & clean

I checked in late and checked out before 8am, so my stay was pretty ordinary. The hotel is rather old, but is kept very nice and clean. When I checked in, it was after 12am and I just wanted to check in and go to bed. However, there was a problem with the [...] credit card that was being applied to my stay. The rate in the COMPUTER at the Eisenhower listed the rate of the room as much higher than I paid and the [...] CC was only authorized for the amount I was staying for. So, when I checked in, I was informed that the [...] credit card was declined and that I would have to call. I wasn't pleased and my cell phone was almost dead. Finally, he tried "one last trick" and changed the rate on the computer so that the card would go through. I'm actually not sure if I was more peeved at him for not trying that first or [...] for the annoyance.Either way, I slept really well and that's all I needed!

Homecoming Wknd - not off to great start

While I was there, I attended my college Homecoming Weekend. The stay would have been more enjoyable if the front desk had my reservation when we we arrived from a 2 1/2 hour driving trip. This trip was below average of the previous trips I have taken.
