Just right for what we needed

Came for a night while visiting the Gettysburg Re-Enactment. Needed a place close to where we wanted to go, that was reliable, clean, simple. This did the trick. Breakfast ordinary but ok. Room very spacious and nice. Only downside was a loud A/C unit in the room, which we didn't use because of noise. Temperature was ok though.

Unexpected change

Room was upgraded - can't remember why, but got us a suite with jacuzzi. We enjoyed very much. I had hoped to have a jacuzzi for at least one of our three nights away, but none were available when I booked us So this was a pleasant surprise. Also, decor in bedroom was very nice - romantic, etc.

Dobbin House, Gettysburg. Downstairs tavern section. Ribs to die for!! Excellent crab cakes and excellent cheesecake!!

clean room, no service

They provide a clean room and hot water but don't expect much else. It's not a bad value. The staff is clueless. The inernet was down for a few days and the staff had no idea how to fix it. The pool was closed for some reason and again, the staff had no idea what to do. I would stay there again at the right price.

Nightlife tip: Not Applicable

If you arrive late and want to go out then just go to downtown Gettysburg. Don't bother calling. When you go downtown there will be plenty of tours running.

Needs updating

For the price I paid ($138 for Sat. night), I received a used bar of soap, used bottle of lotion, and no shampoo or conditioner! The chlorine in the pool burns your eyes to the point its non-usable. Spa was tepid and what I though was steam was actually chlorine! Room clock was set 4 hours ahead, so I had to reset it, and bed wasn't that comfortable. I should have paid the extra $40 to stay at the Hilton Garden Inn where I know I would have received 4 star treatment! Lesson learned---do not stay at Comfort Inn in Gettysburg, its NOT comfortable!

Worst hotel stay EVER!!

I will just hit on the worse things about this hotel. This was a family vacation and we had a suite and a double room. The suite was to be a king and was not. I guess they made up for that with all the stink bugs that were in our room. (and in our beds). There was dust thick enough to write in on the wood furniture as well as dirty sheets on the sofa sleeper. There were also dead bugs all over the carpet. Had to run hot water for 15 minutes to get hot water to shower and was given two towels daily for five people. In other room they had same problem with water but the worst thing was that the FIRE ALARM WAS COVERED WITH PLASTIC. If looking for a clean safe place to stay I would not recommend this hotel.

Not bad for price paid, needs remodel

The hotel lobby is nice and clean but smells like a swimming pool because the pool is adjacent to the lobby. We were visiting the Ski Liberty resort about 20 mins from this hotel. The rooms were clean, but need a serious remodel, they're televisions are rested on pieces of cardboard so they can rotate on top of the dresser/entertainment unit. Its nice to have a fridge and microwave plus the bathrooms have the nice heat lamps to keep you warm after the shower. The front desk associate at night told us the incorrect time for the pool and I was thoroughly disappointed because the pool was something I was looking forward to using but the hours are so limited. I planned on getting up early to do some laps but the one associate told us 11am and it was really 930, so that was rather disappointing. Overall hotels not bad, no bed bugs which was great. A friend of ours staying in the hotel says don't eat the free breakfast or at least the eggs..
