Sitting pretty in Pittsburgh
The Days Inn Pittsburgh International Airport is strategically located. The hotel sits 10 minutes away from the airport and major interstates are practically right outside the door. Major shopping destinations, including IKEA, are nearby as well. Pittsburgh is a quick drive down the road. Though this property has a miniscule gym and a small, heated indoor pool, guests are eligible for free passes to a nearby YMCA.
Highlights
- Convenient location near airport and city of Pittsburgh
- Free continental breakfast and Wi-Fi
- Free passes to nearby YMCA
Rooms
The 144 rooms at the Days Inn Pittsburgh International Airport are standard issue as far as decor and furnishings go. Free Wi-Fi and local calls are a big plus.
Features
Travelers looking for a hotel that is convenient for much of what the Pittsburgh area has to offer will find that and more at the Days Inn Pittsburgh International Airport. The hotel is located just off Interstate 376, close to shopping (IKEA, Robinson Town Center), Pittsburgh International Airport, and major sports stadiums for Pittsburgh teams, including Heinz Field (Pittsburgh Steelers football team), PNC Park (Pittsburgh Pirates baseball team), and Consol Energy Center (Pittsburgh Penguins hockey team). Though the hotel does not have a restaurant on site, guests can enjoy a free Continental breakfast daily.
The hotel offers minimal fitness options onsite, with a small exercise room and an indoor heated pool. However, guests only need ask at the front desk for free passes to the Western Area YMCA, located 1.6 miles (2.5 km) down the road. That YMCA offers group exercise classes, tennis and racquetball, basketball courts, and a Cybex studio.

Nice stay
This hotel is not top of the line, but for what a hotel is intended for it was perfect. I don't stay in a hotel for the spas. room service, big fluffy towels or bellhops. I stay in a hotel to have a bed to sleep in. When traveling I don't travel just ot spend all my time in my hotel room. If all I wanted to d owas stay indoors or in bed I would stay at home. I travel to see things and see froends. Having said that, this hotel met my needs for a place to sleep at night and it met them just fine. The rooms were clean and serviced every day. The bed was confortable and clean. I do not need all the bells and whistles mentioned above so why pay all that oney for things I won't use. The price was more then fair for what I expected and what I got.

Good choice for the price
This was a decent hotel for the price. The room was small and only had a shower stall instead of a bathtub, but my son and I really enjoyed the pool. The pool itself was small, but it was perfectly fine for us and was never too crowded that we couldn't enjoy it. We didn't use the continental breakfast because it was just breads but there are a lot of restaurants and shopping close so that wasn't a problem at all. Overall, for an inexpensive hotel I thought it was good and served our purpose just fine.

Fan of Steel
Never Again
I am a Windham rewards member and will be contacting customer service about the lack of professionalism at this hotel. I am no hotel snob, but this place was totally and truly awful!!!! A couple of buddies and me booked this place to go to the Steelers game. The guy at the front desk was very rude. Each question we asked was followed by a quick NO... Will the shuttle take us downtown...NO!!! Are the rooms together... NO!!!... etc. He did lighten up after a bit, but still left me with a less than friendly experience. The kicker came the next morning. We had breakfast at 8:00am and headed back to our rooms at 9:00am to pick up our stuff to head out to the game. When I got back to my room, the bed was stripped, our grocery bags were gone and the steaks in the refrigerator were gone. After finding housekeeping a few rooms down, the woman called her son downstairs to retrieve our grocery bags (with chips, crackers, munchies) while she went down to the front desk to get the steaks. There was never an apology offered, just a mention that she didn’t see my bags in the room. Mind you check out is at 11:00am. Upon meeting the woman at the front desk, I proceeded to check the bags to make sure everything was there. Another woman behind the front desk said “Don’t worry it is all there.” Did I mention that everyone working in this place was RUDE???? Oh my goodness!!! I reminded this woman that she was in customer service and she was totally out of line. Again no apology, so I decided I would voice my opinion on-line in hopes that no one else would have to experience the totally awful place.
