Pictures better than real life

We stayed here for 2 days. You can tell at one time this place was extraordinary and it could be once again, but it's very dated, dark, dreary, and (dare I say) "cheap". A more modern motel 6 would have been a better option. There were minimal towels in the bath/shower and only one bar of hotel soap. No shampoo, not a second bar (one for shower one for sink), in room coffee was poor and only stocked for one cup (with two guests and two double beds) and the hallway security never locked out strangers at night. I suppose I got what I paid for!

"The Okay overnight"

The rooms were OK clean. Most of the amenities were non existent. Everything was overpriced would only recommend if needed a room at last minute.

Terrible experience

This hotel is very old and none of it updated. The sheets felt like they were fifty years old, pilled and rough. We were without power the whole time because of a storm but the staff did nothing to help us out besides giving us a flashlight! The carpet was soaked with water and moldy which may not have been the hotel's fault but still, the room lacked modern conveniences and smelled bad. I would not stay here again if I had a choice.

Surprized

I was there for a car show and sale. [...]..The room was fine but could of been leaner. Floors needed to be swept and the towel were not wassed very well... We used our own...First night we went to the Embers Rest. there and received the worst service ever. I complained to the hotel manager and he wanted to by me a drink. 7 people walked out with me as no one would wait on them.... Would never eat in the place...

Not your average hotel

We stayed at the hotel over Thanksgiving holiday so it wasn't too busy. The staff was very nice and friendly. The hot tub was amazingly hot and felt wonderful, but the pool wasn't warm enough for me. We had our dog with us and had to pay $10/night fee, which wasn't bad cuz we only stayed 2 nights. The only problem we had with our room was on the second night of our stay, the toilet got clogged so we were moved to the room next door (we were told maintenance was out sick). Overall very happy with our stay.

i want a refund

i booked this hotel with orbitz they have it rated as a 3 star hotel. maybe it was 3 star years ago, but no longer. filthy filthy filthy. The front desk clerk implied i had lied to her this being the last straw to an endless list of negatives, i expect a refund, i checked out after the altercation with the front desk clerk.
