Our room was ready for us when we arrived. It was clean and comfortable , ready for us to have a well rested and comfy night. We enjoyed the breakfast and found it handy not to have to drive out for it. A great trip to visit the family. A home
away from home.
There was hair in our clean towels that were hanging on the rack. Had to ask for more towels when we booked the room for 2 they only left 1. Front desk gentleman on 2/20 early am was not very friendly.
reserved a non-smoking room. they gave it away. said your company said in small print they did not have to honor the request. which was true. said i had to call them to confirm the request. i did call . did not make a difference. would not give a
credit or reduction in room charge.said had to take it up with your company.. did take the room as had no choice. it was ok. did not smell too badly.
We had stayed at this hotel at least once many years ago. I had no recollection that it was 3 stories high and had no elevator! I had a spinal fusion 8 weeks ago and I would not have booked here if I had remembered that they have no
When I asked why they did not advertise this fact...the desk attendant told me that I should have asked for Handicapped access but they were completely booked and there was no way they could give us a room on a lower floor.
This is a motel that could be good if it wasn't for a lack of caring by the staff. Minor problems can become big ones before there's attention given to them.
There are some good things to say about the motel, but the lobby left a horrible first
impression... filthy, loud, and with a certain right-wing channel playing on the TV 24/7 too! If you like that stuff, maybe this place is for you.
Nothing done about the A/C, and heard lots of noise.
The man at check-in was very friendly and helpful and knowledgeable about area eateries. He noticed that they'd put me in a smoking room when I'd specified non-smoking when I made the reservation, and he switched me to an appropriate room before I
even was aware of what was going on. Upon check-out I mentioned that the room's heater puts out A LOT of heat and that you have to turn the dial down almost all the way before it cycles on and off. The woman at the desk made a note to have it checked. The room was clean, and the bed was firm. The complimentary continental breakfast was certainly adequate. I would stay here again if the motels in State College are charging $450.00 a night with 2-night minimum stay because it's a Penn State football weekend. The 40-minute drive from Altoona to State College is pretty easy.
The room was clean and neat and the bed was comfortable. I definitely feel it was a good value for what I was looking for (a bed, a bathroom, free wifi and a treadmill). A few minor things: The pillows were old and lumpy and there was no outlet at
the desk for my laptop or cell phone. I ended up unplugging the coffee maker to plug in my laptop and moving the desk from the wall so I could unplug the alarm clock and plug my cell phone in instead (it was either that or the lamp). The room could definitely have used a few more outlets. The staff was friendly and helpful. I left something behind and had to call 3 times before I could get it sent back to me, but they did ship it out immediately. The wifi worked just fine, I had no problems with it at all. I used the gym, which consisted of a treadmill and elliptical machine. It was clean, quiet and stocked with towels and the equipment worked. I would stay at this hotel again.
Hotel features (5 = best, 1 = worst):

Jethro's Restaurant: skip it. The food wasn't that good and they give you your beverages in mason jars.
It was a great choice. I liked the layout and the furniture in the room. Selection of TV stations was good. Breakfast was OK but fine fo rmy purposes. It was a great choice. Glad I stayed there and will do so again in the future.
