Free breakfast
You get what you pay for. Free hot breakfast was definitely NOT HOT. Would be better off going across the road to McDonalds.

Where's the Smile?
The only real issue was the attitude of the front desk person. Think of adjectives that fit with "sullen." Everyone else was great; unfortunately the front desk was the only one we had to deal with [you know, checking in, checking out...] The bar/Grill [connected but different ownership], however, was great. Good service, really good Cajun food.

Ok, but nothing special
The hotel was clean, but the non-smoking room smelled like stale cigarettes. The mini fridge/microwave were nice. I would stay there again, but it wasn't the best hotel I've ever stayed at.

The Dalles
Location is fantastic, right next to a dam on Columbia River. Hotel needs to be "freshened up a bit." Sheets and blankets very thin. Room was clean as was the property. Staff were pleasant. Price was very good for area.

Don't eat there. The service is SLOW, SLOW, SLOW. Food was OK, but it took at least 20 -25 minutes to arrive. Even just a bowl of soup for a starter. Lots of other diners were complaining. People were leaving after downing their drinks. This was my second try at this place. It was the same before. I won't give them a 3rd try.

A Hotel Badly in need of Renovation
We entered our room to a very heavy perfumy odor, and decided to open the sliding glass door to alleviate the smell. We left for a while and upon our return, the perfume was gone, but a vaguely cat pee odor took it's place. The carpet had a large wrinkle running the length of the room, and the toilet was crooked as was the water that flowed from the sinks, at a 33 degree angle. It took several hours, but the heater finally warmed the room. Everthing about the room said,"old", from the counter tops to the floors, to the condition of the walls and the hallways, the exterior doors. Definitely needs some major work. The complementary breakfast was also a big dissappointment,"eggs"-not sure what they were, and a poor excuse for an English Muffin. We almost left the hotel and went back to the Best Western in Hood River(very nice), and I would recommend that if you can stay in Hood River too.

Once and done
So I thought I was getting this great deal for a hotel that was right on the river, with a hot tub, and a restaurant with good food. The hotel wasn't horrible as far as the room went, but I def felt like 95 dollars was way too much to stay here for one night. I would not stay there again, I can get the same hotel experience at Motel 6 for 50 bucks a night...

No expectations
I used the room mainly for sleeping and it was great for that. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable and looked new. The breakfast that was included was a real breakerfast not a carb feast. If the room was less smoke smelling I would have been really impressed.
