Travelodge Salem Capitol

It was fine for the price. The lighting was dim, and there was a bad chemical odor when we first checked in, but open windows helped.

The beds were hard as a rock. The shower knob that controlled the water temperature could not be turned off. A person came to fix the problem once we made them aware of it. The location of the hotel was perfect since it was not too far away from the building that I needed to be at. The following saying applies--you get what you pay for.

we wanted a quiet place to stay for the night. pool was small but acceptable. laptop wouldnt hook up to 2 wifi options offered. they said it was my computer or that there were so many people connecting. couldnt even hook up at 6am! I requested a bottom floor because i have a small child and there was no tub, just a coming apart box of a shower. fine place if all you want is a quiet night sleep.

The WiFi was spotty at best. We stayed 2 night and our room did not get refreshed. We had to get our own towels!! Furniture was stained.

Great location near the university, made attending a conference there very easy. Walls so thin we could hear people talking and partying in the rooms around us. This place accepts pets, and we had people with dogs in the room next to us--barking into the night. One of our friends was allergic to dogs and they didn't tell her that her room had had dogs in it--even though she specifically insisted on a room that was pet-free. When they finally switched her, her room was infested with ants. The worst thing about this motel was the wifi connection. Went in and out, was never strong, really prevented us from getting our work done and this was a major problem since we were on a working trip. The people at the desk are a bit rude sometimes, and not very helpful. The room was fairly clean, but make sure you bring your own conditioner, as they only have a little (low-quality) shampoo.

The motel and room were both very dated, cramped and dingy. The street was very busy. The breakfast was pretty much non existent! Major disappointment. I would have gladly found a nicer place farther away from the university!

Comfortable beds, nice flat screen T.V.

There was so much noise going on that the Police had to come it kept guess up till at least 3:00 am. Not much of a breakafast. Beds were like rocks. Pool was freezing cold.

Appriceated their kindness even though we checked in late, and checked out 5 minutes late. Owner/manager was very helpful and friendly. Apreciated their willingness to change rooms when we told them we need a ground level. Liked having a microwave and small fridge, (it even worked!) Overall good experience. I have stayed in nicer places, but I got what I paid for. Location was good for us.
