Staff couldn't care less, mattress hard as a rock.
Reception lady was perturbed because we interrupted her personal phone call when we arrived to check in. Later contact with different lady had the same attitude. Also, the mattress was very very hard, making a good night's sleep impossible. The room was very clean and everything else was great.

Surprisingly nice...
My first impression was not good - outside of the hotel looked like it needed upgrades and attendant at desk was busy playing on computer and making a personal call. However, our room was very clean, nice and big. I was prepared to eat breakfast out instead of the breakfast served, however, their breakfast was delicious - hot meal with eggs, bacon, sausage, biscuits, gravy, waffles, fruit, juice, coffee, bagels, cereal, etc. Very nice in a very updated facility. We were very please and pleasantly surprised!

Great for Travellers with Pets
We come to the Marion County Fair every year to compete in Dog racing. Rooms are good,and large enough for dog crates and there is so much space to take the dogs out side.Fred Meyer is right behind and lots of restaurants not far away. Perfect for us!

Great family/pet friendly hotel
Great place to stay for a stop-over while traveling. Had family with child and pet, Black Bear is very welcoming for them. It has a kid pool, playground, fabulous breakfast bar, clean and comfortable rooms. Very friendly staff also. Even though I-5 is next door, the road noise isn't too bad. Very easy access either north or south traveling. Great Mexican restraunt nearby.

Unbeatable location for the price
Our family has been using this hotel for the past 35 years. At least once a year and sometimes several times during the year. Everything considered, we would not go anywhere else.

Having a good trip so far
Exactly as claimed
The room was very clean and the bed comfortable. We only had two pillows for the two of us, a couple more would have been nice. The breakfast was good, with scrambled eggs (or egg-type food, I found it tasted kind of funny) and sausages, along with the usual motel breakfast items. Would I stay there again? Possibly, but not without checking around first. | thought it was a bit expensive compared to some other locations, but it did provide a full breakfast and newspaper with the room.
