A great stay in downtown Portland
Our great experience started before we arrived. We booked two rooms, one for ourselves and one for my mother in law. I called to make sure everything was in order the morning before we arrived and the staff was very helpful, even asking if we wanted adjacent rooms or rooms on separate floors. Checkin was fast and pleasant, with them volunteering to add my spouse on the room in case the key was lost. I talked to the front desk agent about some restaurant choices while checking in and received some helpful suggestions. The rooms were immaculate, and well furnished. The restaurant in the lobby (Daily Grill) had good service and good food. The hotel itself is very convenient to most downtown Portland locations. Overall, the stay in this very comfortable, clean, and quiet hotel one of the highlights of our short vacation to Portland.

The Japanese Gardens in Washington Park. First rate fall foliage on the first week of November. We had the place mostly to ourselves on a Thursday afternoon and it was visually stunning!

Our Stay at the Westin Portland
Visting Portland to finalize housing arrangements for a move later this summer. Great city, great hotel, customer service. Only wish that they had self service parking. Only option was valet or street parking and valet was $30/day.

A Westin Weekend
We were searching for a weekend getaway from Vancouver and only having driven through Portland we decided it was a place we wanted to explore. We settled on the Westin because of their incredible beds, superlative location and the fact that they were a per-friendly property. Many Portland hotels claim to be dog friendly but beware the fine print; many hotels accept only one dog and we have 2 little "girls". Anyway, the Westin's location is unbeatable; the service from the second you drive up (that can be tricky as there is a tiny unloading zone and quite a bit of trafic) and the valet, doormen and bell-hop provide service that is a throwback to a more glamorous era of travel, i.e. excellent. The lobby is very small and if you arrive with a crowd it can be a little bit claustrophobic. The roos are on the small side but very nicely decorated; no minimalist chic or retro vogue stuff just very tasteful, neutral earth tones. The bed is to die for, the bathrooms are luxurious and larger than some econo-hotel rooms (really!. Big screen TVs,small fridge and Keurig single serving coffe-makers round out the amenities. The hotel restaurant, The Daily Grill, serves scrumptious and filling food at reasonable prices with great service (although the ambiance is average). Room service was friendl, fast and almost affordable! Location here is great and everything in dowtown Portland and the Pearl District is within walking distance. We won't stay anywhere else in Portland.

You have to check out the huge factory outlet mall about 25 minutes south of the Westin on I-5.A great selection of stores and Oregon has NO SALES TAX!!! The Columbia sportswear outlet is nearby and incredible coffee and baked good shops are all within walking distance.

A Nice Couple Weekend Get Away
The Westin is just at the tail end of a complete remodel. Our room seemed like we were the first ever to stay in it. It was a wonderful room and just a nice to stay in. The lobby had workers finishing the final touches, but would clean up completely prior to the dinner hour. Of course the parking fee of $33.00 was excessive - I wish it was part of the cost to stay. [...] it was a impulsive couples weekend get away. We scheduled our room on Thursday night at 10:00pm and showed up at 3:00pm the next day. We saw other hotel options during our stay and were very impressed overall by the Westin.

Good Value-Great Location
Reception staff and valet parking very accommodating. A few minor hiccups in the room; no remote for TV, toilet would not stop running, cleaning staff woke us in the AM(before 9 am).
