Logistics and Lighting
The Hotel is located on a busy intersection in down-town Portland, and is a nightmare to both get to and off-load. One way streets, a small drop off area and location all make getting to the hotel and checking in (on the 8th floor) a little clumsy to say the least. The hotel staff were nice, but we felt our inner room that faced the atrium was quite dismal, and lacked privacy if you wanted to open your curtains, and as the rooms were very dimly lit one felt the need to open them for additional light. The hotel is located in a very popular area for street people, there seemed to be a fair share of begging going on. I can't say we ever felt unsafe, but it was a bit much after a while. Nice hotel

Nothing special
Other than nice furnishings, nothing is exceptional about this hotel. Very poor water pressure in the shower and sink. Bathroom tub looked 15 yrs old and the no slip decals were dirty. No in room coffee or coffee bar anywhere in hotel. Music in the Departure Lounge and Urban Farmer is obnoxious and too loud. Pear salad at Departure was phenominally great! Ok service throughout our stay.

Beautiful hotel. Staff was so helpful and accommodating to your needs. The only thing was that valet was overpriced.

The Nines
We stayed for 2 nights for our honeymoon. We had very good service! The only weird thing was that the staff did not inform us that we needed to swipe our room key everytime we got on the elevator to go anywhere. Also the first night we got to the hotel the room was simply cleaned..the second night we asked for housekeeping and we came back to some small chocolate brownies on our pillow...we didn't have any of that on the first night.

The Nines is a 10!
Came down to Portland for a fun weekend of shopping, eating and relaxing. The hotel was great and the staff were all fantastic. Had lunch at the hotel restaurant, The Urban Farmer and it turned out to be one of the best meals of all. I will always stay at The NInes when in Portland!
