Great Northwest Vacation

The Heathman is conveniently located downtown. It is a short walk from all the downtown attractions, and very easy to reach by taking the train from the airport with a short walk. We were all in our late 20's and enjoy going out late, but it was nice to have a quiet room waiting for us when we were ready for the night to end. Bathroom was small, but who cares? You won't regret the Heathman!

Nice location, nice hotel

Very pleasant. Good downtown location, courteous staff. The bed was extremely comfortable. I felt the room to be a bit cramped ,and also we had very loud neighbors, unfortunately, but since it was hard to tell where they were coming from, I couldn't really do anything about it.

Elegant

The Heathman certainly lived up to its reputation as one of the most elegant hotels in Portland, OR. We ate at the restaurant and were likewise not disappointed. Food was excellent and the staff attentive without being fussy. Only minor caveat, the rooms are well appointed but quite small, with just one armchair. (Seems to be a common feature of upmarket hotels in Portland.)

overpriced and not very comfortable

one night there: the public spaces were all inexplicably too cold -- the lobby, hallways, even the restaurant. Not just us, another guest at random agreed. We had to go out to another place to eat dinner because of this. The room was very small, with no armchair. Windows opened on air shafts. $32 valet parking. Good location in middle of Pearl district. Much too uncomfortable for another stay.

Wonderful getaway

The Heathman is the ideal hotel for trip to Portland. The hotel staff were very attentive and informative with the most perfect recommendations for activities around town. The hotel is located in the epicenter of town and a short walk to everything. We loved the room and french press coffee in room was very special.

Just Excellent

Staff attentive. Room excellently appointed for a historic establishment. Very clean. Comfortable King bed. Perfect location to downtown Portland events and amenities. Restaurant very good but pricey. Comfortable lounge that had light jazz the evenings we were there. All in all, we had a terrific stay.

Great hotel in the center of town. The staff is great but not overbearing. Rooms probably a bit smaller than average but were very quiet.

Not so happy birthday!

So, I booked the 'suite' for $199 for one night on a Wednesday night at the Heathman...our room was TINY! The tub that I thought was going to be nice and I could soak and celebrate my birthday night in comfort was LITTLE and not so cozy. Nothing romantic about our room at all. Also, neither my husband or I slept at all that night. THe bed was hard as a rock and super uncomfortable, as well as our pillows...they were AWFUL! No matter how many or how few you put under your head you couldn't get comfortable! We'd have been happier at a cheaper hotel so at least we could have spent more out on the town. WASTE of $200 for sure. And here I was hoping for a lovely night away for my birthday. Not at all satisfied.
