The Shilo Inn is always a reliable place to stay. Nothing fancy, but fills our needs. Price is right, free parking a bonus in this area.

What an experience
On the trip to Portland I got sick and couldn't wait to arrive at the hotel. Upon arrival we were told we could not check in until 4 PM leaving us four hours to kill. We went for lunch arrived back at 2 PM and again were told not until 4 PM. We sat in the car due to not feeling well and at 3:15 we noticed others went in and were given a room. At 3:30 others went in and were given a room. At 3:50 enough was enough... we finally got a room. The excuse given was last night we were sold out. It's hard to believe everyone from the night before checked out at the same time and housekeeping didn't have a room cleaned when we arrived. Anything positive I might have had to say was dimishished by my experience upon arrival. Would I stay here or reccomend this location to a friend, never.

Enjoy walking across the street for drinks at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, while staying at Shilo for less than half the price.

Great Location!
This property is a great location if you are trying to save a little $$ staying in Portland. It is just a 5-minute walk to the convention center MAX light rail and you can get right downtown quickly. The breakfast needs a little attention. Twice we came downstairs to find only loafs of bread, a couple packages of dry cereal, and a couple apples left. There were not many options to choose from. Also, the bathroom is a tight squeeze and a little tricky to get in there and close the door. The slamming doors from other rooms seems like it shakes the entire building but that is more an issue of rude guests. Other than that, the location and rate is great!!

Walk over to the convention center MAX rail and you can ride downtown for free. Leave your car at the hotel because the parking is free!

A small Shilo Inn in a great location
Although it was quite small, it was comfortable. Entering the bathroom and closing the door required some planning because the room was so small. The continental breakfast needed better setup. Napkins and plates were absent although there were bowls for cereal. With such a wonderful location, this Shilo should be quite profitable so management should really consider putting more into it.

Good rooms, good value
The rooms were surprinsingly good, recently updated and a good value for the money. The lobby is tiny and pretty simple so don't get mislead by it. The breakfast could be much better.

Bargain Seekers
Good choice at an excellent price
We stayed for four nights and had a great hotel experience. The staff was incredibly nice and helpful and the room was as we expected. It was nice, clean and comfortable enough. It was in a surprisingly convinient location, about a 10 minute walk to Lloyd Center and a 5 minute walk to the nearest Max station. We highly recommend this to anyone looking for a nice, inexpensive room.

A good value
Good clean hotel. Nothing superior, but good value for the price. The room was clean and service was friendly. Continental breakfast was basic but adequate for us. Within walking distance of the Maxx light rail line and the Lloyd Center shopping area. A twenty minute walk to downtown Portland across the Steel bridge via walking and bike paths..

Well Done Shilo Rose Garden
Recent redecoration was well done. Well maintained. Friendly staff. Great location for Rose Garden events. Rooms are compact but adequate.

It is only a short 0.4 mile walk to the Rose Garden or Coliseum. North 1/2 block on 2nd to Weidner. West 3 blocks over the I5 freeway. South into the Rose Garden complex.
