Well Done Shilo Rose Garden
Recent redecoration was well done. Well maintained. Friendly staff. Great location for Rose Garden events. Rooms are compact but adequate.

Short walk from hotel
It is only a short 0.4 mile walk to the Rose Garden or Coliseum. North 1/2 block on 2nd to Weidner. West 3 blocks over the I5 freeway. South into the Rose Garden complex.

It was a nice place. my only gripe would be that our room keys stopped working, and the desk clerk tried to convince me that sliding the keycard into the slot about twenty times, until it worked, was not a big deal.

Average hotel with a convenient location
I enjoyed the concert which was a 5 minute walk from the hotel. If it was not for the convenient location I would not have stayed here at $98.00 a night. People were nice.

Footsore Travelers
Smallest Shilo We've seen Hard to Find
Described as .75 miles from Amtrak station VERY misleading. Not visible from MAX stop. They did however let us check in and use our room before 4PM which was nice.

quite disappointed
Good location
They weren't sure they had a room - apparently overbooked. Waited 20 minutes in lobby. Very disorganized front desk staff. Finally got one. Had to straddle toilet to get door to close behind you. Carpet was badly soiled but room appeared to be clean otherwise. Since we were attending an event at the Rose Garden it worked out very well to walk so location was good for that.

The young gentleman at the desk
The young gentleman at the desk was very nice but it's too bad he was apparently expected to restock the breakfast bar and refill the toilet paper too. I think they could use some additional staff for both customers and the facility. Don't stay if your claustrophobic, it's a bit cramped everywhere.

not that bad
The location of the motel was great, because it was a walking distance to the blazers game... We thought it was great because we didn't have to drive anywhere. Even to dinner too.

Centrally located & priced right
We arrived hours early & the Hotel worked on our room & turned it over to us early @ no hike in price or extra charges. The staff was very helpful & always available for any question(s). Another review mentioned the distance from the toilet to the swinging bathroom door. this was also true in our room. It took planing to close the door while inside....However if this is the worst thing concerning this property then so be it.

USE the light rail system! It is terrific. You can see the city & 20 miles beyond that for only a few dollars....Or stay downtown & ride for free! Parking is expensive & the light rail is faster, well laid out & leaves you free for pictures & oooooing & awwwwing as the city is simply beautiful. At night it is simply breath taking. We came on business & ceretainly plan on returning for business & pleasure!
