Great overall experience

The Shilo in Beaverton, OR was great. The room had a great large TV and the landscaping and grounds were beautiful. Other than the fact that it was surrounded by car lots, it was perfect. I would definitely stay there again.

Surprisingly Nice

My daughter and I stayed in this hotel while visiting colleges in the Portland area and were pleasantly surprised. The room looked like it had been recently remodeled and redecorated and was just beautiful - luxurious comforter sets and coordinating pillows, flat-screen TV, table with comfortable chairs, a fridge, and a microwave. The neighborhood isn't too inspiring, but the hotel was a gem. Free, hot breakfast was a nice treat and the coffee was amazingly good. Warm cookies and popcorn in the lobby was a nice touch.

Remodeling

The motel is in the middle of remodeling and thus difficult to tell what will be changed and what is permanent. The room we had had just been done over and was in good shape. The beds(Queen) were excellent. The room has two sinks, one inside the bath and the other outside. The room could have used more than one wastbasket. The hall was being recarpeted when we were there, and required care in coming and going. We had problems with the ice machine, but that might be scheduled for replacement. The front desk was always very helpful in responding to our requests. A full breakfast is part of the stay and the food was very good. The chain allows pets to stay which is a big plus to some people. Their location is easy to get to if you're driving.
