Tired and disapointed
Poor housekeeping
We needed a one night place to stay while traveling home from a week of business meetings. We knew this was a basic, no frills hotel. However, even basic rooms can be well maintained. Upon entering our room it was clear that it had not been vacuumed. The kitchenette showed evidence of use without a thorough cleaning. The refrigerator was almost inaccessable with the door opening against the wall. We had to move the bed to put items in it. The breakfast was bread, cereal or waffles only. Milk, creamer, juice, butter, napkins were used up with 1 1/2 hours still left in the breakfast time. Even a basic motel should have better care than this one. I would not use the pool or spa based on the lack of care in other areas.

The room was nice an quiet. One of the table lambs bulb needs to be replaced Room 203. Ihad to have a physical at the health university. One of the lights did not work! Room was quieter than I am used to.

First time there
We arrived late and there was no problem checking in. The only thing I see that they could improve on is the waffle maker, getting old and worn out. Maybe put two of them in there breakfast area.

Great Value
Roadway Inn was a good value for the money. The room was clean and the staff was friendly. They are in the process of painting the outside of the building. I spoke with the owner and his goal is to landscape also so that it is more pleasing to the travelers. He told me that with competition the way it is he needs to do more to bring in more people. I think he is going to do a great job and wish them well. I hope he does some upgrades to the interior also as it is a bit worn out but clean. The room was dark and quiet so it suited me fine for sleeping. We stayed there while visiting Edgewood in Troutdale (really a cool spot if you are looking for an unusual pub experience).

Excellent value
The hot tub was so relaxing, we had an excellent dinner at an area restaurant, and, although close to the freeway, it was very quiet. We definitely will be returning.

There were many near-by restaurants in the area. We chose to drive a moderate distance to eat at The Olive Garden.

good staff, unclean hotel
the ground level floor stinks with smell, the staff was friendly and considerate. Even helped us with our tour plans and moved us into a (releatively) cleaner and bigger room (for free).

Fantastic night sleep
The stay was fantastic, very nice clean and big rooms. Fast in room wi-fi. The breakfast was small and to simple for me. Only had pastries and cold cereal. Would like to have some hot breakfast items like waffles or something.

Wonderful experience!
The staff was extremely helpful and courteous! Each and every question or request I made was met with eagerness and excellent execution. I was a bit hesitant when booking after reading their low star rating, but I'm glad I went ahead and booked the reservation for three days (I couldn't pass on the excellent price). The location is exceptional as well, getting into Portland to visit the Japanese or Chinese Gardens, The Old Spaghetti Factory, OMSI, or Hoyt Arboretum was quite simple and easy.
