We were expecting a not very good dinner at the restaurant but were pleasantly surprised that it was very good and reasonably priced. Service was very slow, it was just before closing (at 9pm) and they do provide room service to the hotel.

Cascade station shopping center that has an Ikea.
--Jewels, Portland, Oregon Aug 5, 2009
You can walk to the light rail stop by Ikea, then an easy ride from downtown or elsewhere. There is no sidewalk for the first block or so, and you'll be walking in tall grass near a large but not too busy highway. BTW, there are other hotels that are closer to the light rail but further from the airport.

Great Hotel, unbeatable locale for the $

Simply a great experience from start to finish. Great staff, great vending areas more extensive than most and gorgeous ... rooms. Shocked at the low price compared to some of the hotels close in proximity. The airport shuttle service was most appreciated and the driver was cheerful and helpful! Would recommend highly and will certainly return if ever flying out of portland again.

The staff was nice the newly updated rooms were comfortable. The room had a very comfortable new king bed. Room was a little ... small for the newness. The update in the Bathroom was great loved the new counters, but the room was sooo small that closing the door is tough. Did I mention the front desk staff was very nice and helpfull. The smoke detector was beeping and the front desk had no replacement batteries, soo we had to put it in the bathroom under towels.

Good location
Jan Oct 2, 2009
Considering the price of the hotel it wasn't bad. The bed was comfortable, the room clean although there was a smell - kind ... of musty. If you want to print out your boarding pass be careful as it only printed out mine not the other member of my party - it just rebooted the PC. Wireless was good in the hotel room.

Good Hotel
saha6818 Jul 27, 2009
My room was more than good enough. Very clean and comfortable. Nothing wrong that I can remember, and I can be a bit picky. ... My room was at the top of the stairs very close to the lobby and I was worried about noise. But it turned out to be very quiet. Oh, it would be nice if there was a sidewalk to a nearby restaurant, cafe, or bar. There is a restaurant/bar attached to the hotel, but it just wasn't appealing to my immediate mood. I ended up walking to the light rail stop. It was a bit farther than I anticipated, but definitely doable.

Suffers from poor management
GaGa Jul 17, 2009
Excellent beds, ample pillows, and thick concrete walls resulted in a welcome quiet night and somewhat made up for the small ... bathroom, lack of elevator and definite lack of care of the halls and outside areas of this older motel. Awkward exit back to 82nd street required a confusing U turn to get to the airport, altho it was just up the road. Room price does not include breakfast, but adjacent restaurant did provide a Denny's type menu and casual service, including room service. Pool was small and not cleaned overnight and pool area was full of trash the next morning. Ice machine broken and outside trash containers overflowing were disturbing also. We will not book this motel again as it did not meet the standards we had seen in other Red Lion establishments.

though the hotel is a good ways from any attractions, the shuttle service to the light rail depot at the airport is a short drive and you can get to any destination on the train. the public transportation in portland is awesome. also, the hotel has a person on call 24 hours to drive you in the shuttle.
