Nice hotel in decent location
Enjoyed my stay at the Paramount. Clean comfortable room, nicely situated to a number of destinations which were easily accessible on foot or by public transportation. Minor quibble was it seemed rooms had thin walls, but that's truly a minor point. I would stay here again, especially at the price I paid.

Awesome
The Paramount was a great deal - nice hotel, friendly staff, fantastic location. The room was a decent size, and we were lucky enough to get a corner room with a jacuzzi. We never had to use the hotel restaurant, because there are a ton of restaurants nearby. The only minor inconvenience I can think of is that there were not vending machines on every floor, and we had to go up to the 8th floor to buy a bottle of water. Not a big deal. We would definitely stay at The Paramount again the next time we come to Portland.

Quiet and clean
The staff was nice and the room was clean and comfortable. The hotel is located very close (2 blocks) to the Max lines and shopping - nearly everything is within walking distance. Only downside is the restaurant was closed during our stay, but I look forward to trying it on our next visit!

A perfect spot
Location, Location, Location! From this Hotel we were able to easily walk to just about every spot in town that was of interest, from the Public Library to the Waterfront to Powells' books to restaurants, movies and parks. The staff was more than accommodating and the concierge service went above and beyond in helping to procure Trailblazer tickets. Will stay here the next time we are in Portland.

Excellent downtown stopover
This, our second stay at the Paramount, was even better than the first. The staff were extremely polite and attentive, the room was very comfortable, even including a jacuzzi large enough for two. Minor caveats: limited closet space (something has to give); the onsite bar and restaurant (Dragonfish Asian cafe) is not up to the standard of other features; the high cost of valet parking, which jacks up the rate quite a bit, and to be be fair, is no more than other downtown hotels charge for the same service.

Short walk from hotel
Skip the onsite restaurant and bar. There are several superior places within a short walk, for example, the Southpark Grill and Wine Bar just around the corner.

Great place to stay!
We were here in 2000 and we were very happy that this hotel hasn't changed! The location is ideal, right in the heart of Portland... so easy to get around on foot, by light rail, by car! The staff is pleasant, friendly and very helpful. We would defintely stay here again!

Fantastic Historic Hotel in awesome location!
We stayed on the 14th floor in room 1409 at this hotel on 8/24/11 for 3 nights. It's a beautiful hotel and the location is fantastic. Director's Park sits in front of the hotel and provides shaded seating and plenty of people watching opportunities. Pastini Pastaria and Violetta's are both two seconds from the hotel and were delicious. We found the hotel to be exceptionally quiet, with good insulation between the rooms. We never heard any neighbors. The only gripe we had was there was mold in the shower. Other than that, the room was lovely, spacious with great views of Director's Park and the Portland skyline. The bedding was very nice with fitted sheets. We walked all over town and shopped to exhaustion. The hotel was close to everything that was important. Such a great experience!

Don't purchase Max tickets unless leaving the FREE zone. We bought tickets to the Zoo only to realize later it's in the FREE Zone. Live and learn! ha!

Great Location
Terrific location for exploring Portland and the microbreweries of the Pearl District. Close to Pioneer Square and shopping, also to the waterfront where it is fun to rent a bike and explore. Hotel is very nice, rooms are fairly large but nothing out of the ordinary. Did not ask much of the staff, but they did not go out of their way to be hospitable. Might recommend this hotel
