Family fun

our experience was great. The location was key! We were within walking distance to all the great things Portland has to offer. The only down side was the rooms were very small and Queen bed is small when your used to a king. Also it is loud when you have a room bar side, but they say that on the website. The Doug fir restaurant that was attached was great. over all we would stay there again.

Good for party animals

Very portland hotel. Way overpaid for room ($200/night) which is a smartly updated "motel." Clientele leans toward the party animal type, several hotel guests drew male genitalia on their chalkboard painted door, which seems like a portland thing, as you can even get donuts in this shape here. I'd recommend this hotel to a certain crowd, sure that they would have the time of their life here, but for me i'd probably go with a more mature hotel next time so i can get some rest,

Unique and very Portlandish

If you are looking for the Portland Experience look no further than the Jupiter Hotel. Rooms are nice. Staff was fantastic. The only downside was that it was across the river. Short walk though to Voodoo Donuts and Powell Book Store! Thumbs up all around!

Underwhlemed

This is the hipster's hotel in Portland. Unfortunately, there was a ton of mold in the bathroom (how could the cleaning staff miss it?) and parking wasn't available on my first night (though I paid for it). The chalkboard paint on the boards was pretty cool, but not cool enough for me to stay there again.

Good experience

I read all the reviews prior to staying, and was hesitant to book because of noise, location, parking, etc.. But, i was attending a three day motorcycle show about two blocks up the street and it was a three minute walk back and forth, so the location was perfect, and I got it for a decent price by checking back on the price frequently. The parking on the street in the area was bad- lots of broken glass, no good spaces that were not on a two hour limit, etc. Closest space I could find was two streets up, out of view. It was a weekend and parking was free, so I didn't try the underground garage though and just made sure to leave no valuables in my truck. No problems. The room was very small- hard for two people to move around in easily. But, it was clean and comfortable, the heater worked, the shower had lots of hot water, really no problem at all with the room, other than the lamp flickering. The noise wasn't even bad, we stayed on the "Chill Side", top floor. Just left the heater on all night to drown out the party down in the courtyard one night. No problems with noise or drunks or anything like in other reviews. The restaurant was great, super convenient, lunch and breakfast prices were not bad at all, and there were affordable dinner options. Bar / lounge on site. No problems with vagrants wandering through. The staff at the counter were good, no problems cheking in and out. For the size and ammenities, the price is a bit high in my book, but just keep checking for deals, I got it at $87 a night. Happy with the stay, would stay again..

Time-saving tip: Not Applicable

Don't bother going downtown, everything you need is on the east side. Too much hassle, vagrant hit-ups, traffic, and rudeness in old downtown in my opinion.
