The excellent Hotel deLuxe

We arrived in cold rainy weather. The parking valet welcomed us, took are van and looked after it for the period of our stay (two nights). Our luggage was quickly taken up to our room. The people behind the reception desk were extremely helpful, giving us a map of Portland and giving us instructions as to where places were that we wanted to visit. Our room was a bit small for that class of a hotel, but it was certainly comfortable - a great bed to sleep in and the flat screen TV made our bad weather stay more enjoyable. They loaned us umbrellas for our outdoor adventures. The food and decor in the dining room was outstanding. A great last stay to end our trip!

Order the New York steak - it was tender and done to a turn. A great wine list, too.

Nice place

This art-deco hotel was renovated in the Hollywood theme. Good location: within walking distance from the downtown and the central Pioneer square. A tram takes straight from the airport to the hotel (40 min). Tram ride within the central Zone 1 is free. Although the hotel Web page does not advertise it, the hotel actually gives free access to WiFi in the rooms.

Amazing experience

From the moment I drove up until the moment I left, the staff was extremely attentive and accomadating. [...] took the time to make sure I was in the best room, help me find the best of what I was looking for around the city and bring me comfort/entertainment accesories. Everyone who works at the deLuxe is extremely friendly and knowledgeable. The room was amazing, so comfortable, clean, well appointed and beautiful. Room service arrived quickly and the food was quite good. I felt well taken care and at the same time my privacy was completely respected. I will return next time with my family for what is sure to be a wonderful fun time.

Shopping tip: Short walk from hotel

I really enjoyed the 23rd street up the hill area. It was full of great shops and eateries. Portland is easy to get around, the people are very kind and the pace is much slower than other cities.

It was a great experience to end a two week business trip through eight different hotels. Staff was gracious without being over bearing. The place is not downtown which is a complete bonus

Nice (small) hotel in good location

The Hotel deLuxe is absolutely lovely. The rooms are on the small side but very nice with all the amenities a casual traveler could want. The room service is prompt and delicious. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. The location is convenient to the PGE Park Max station as well as several bus routes. My biggest complaint is the lack of accessible plugs for lap-tops, cell phones, etc. I had to crawl under the desk to find an outlet and even then the outlet is so old that the cord frequently fell out. If you're traveling for fun, this may not be as much of a problem, but for a business traveler, it was a little difficult. However, for the price, quality and location, I would easily crawl under the desk again.
