Great Location, Great Ambience

This hotel is great for any type of traveller. It is very upmarket. The outdoor area has several firepits and tables to enjoy drinks in the evening and a very nice restaraunt. The location is central and you can walk to shopping, and eateries nearby. However, if you are a weary travellor or have been in meeting all day, you do not need to leave the hotel. It was extremely clean, modern and the beds were comfortable. It was a great experience.

My new home away from home...

Sometimes boutique hotels are hit-and-miss: either too precious by far or long on bells, short on whistles. (And ridiculously overpriced.) The Modera is none of those things. Unassuming, with a super friendly staff, a great restaurant, and a perfect location. I've stayed at many boutique hotels that weren't near as nice and cost way more a night. Now if only they could do something about Portland's weather!

Clean, convenient, and great service!

I really enjoyed the fire-lit patio in the back where my friends and I ordered beers and kicked back. It was a very nice hang-out spot. Our rooms were spotless, and the design of the hotel was overall very chic and sophisticated. I highly recommend this hotel for any traveler to Portland.

Excellent stay

Very swanky rooms with low key but cool modern decor. The staff is not pretentious, the hotel bar is nice, with a great evening patio where you can sit by the fire while you eat & drink & lounge.

Khun Pics Bahn Thai. An unknown restaurant in a residential house without a sign, where the owner prepares every dish herself with everything made to order and nothing pre-prepared. By far the best Thai food in Portland.

Couldn't have been better!

I grew up in Portland but haven't lived there for many years. It's so much fun to return and stay downtown and soak up the wonderful ambience. So much has changed over the years. Visiting old friends and family made returning to Phoenix difficult! But I couldn't stop taking pics of Hotel Modera's wonderful decor. So sleek and classy. The people at the front desk and the employees I met in elevators, hallways, etc. were very friendly and helpful. I hated to leave such a great place.

Awesome boutique!

This hotel has done it right. The interior was well planned and well done. The staff was friendly and helpful. We stayed for a week prior to a weekend wedding and enjoyed our entire stay. The on site restaurant (Nel Centro) was excellent and would highly recommend it. The bar staff was awesome and gave some excellent tips on getting around and what to see while in Portland. Overall one of the nicest stays of my recent travels. Coming from Chicago where we have some of the finest establishments in the world I can say that I have high standards and all were met at the Modera. THe outside fireplaces are a nice touch in a city where cooler nights are common. However 2 of the 3 were not working while we stayed there. The only thing I can come up with for negitive comment.
