Great stay, a bit expensive
The rooms were clean and quite comfy, complete with down pillows/comforters, a mini fridge, safe, and an iPod/iPhone dock, so we didn't even have to bring an iPhone charger. The location was great; easy walking distance to the free streetcar and several good restaurants. The concierge was very helpful; we got recommendations from them for restaurants, activities, and how to best get where we wanted to go. They even helped us make reservations at restaurants and printed out sample menus for us to take a look at.

Great Boutique Hotel
Modera is a really hip fun place with a great outdoor patio with chairs around fire pits and a contemporary update to small European style rooms. Not a great kid place, but as it's in City, it's a great spot for adults to walk to everything. Super friendly staff.

Clean, convenient, and great service!
I really enjoyed the fire-lit patio in the back where my friends and I ordered beers and kicked back. It was a very nice hang-out spot. Our rooms were spotless, and the design of the hotel was overall very chic and sophisticated. I highly recommend this hotel for any traveler to Portland.

Love Portland!
Unbeatable location for the price
Hotel Modera was very clean and filled with friendly staff. They were very accomodating when asked about having a late check out as well as holding our bags until we needed to leave for the airport. The hotel is located right in downtown and in walking distance to may breweries, waterfront, and bus and MAX lines. We will definitly stay in this hotel again and can not wait to go back to Portland!

Great location
I thought this hotel was nice overall. The concierge was very nice and helpful, and the hotel had a very clean, environmentally friendly appeal. The location was excellent, having been located just a few blocks away from the shopping area and directly in front of the bus route. I was somewhat disappointed that the restaurant in the hotel was not open all day, particularly when travelers coming straight from the airport may require some sustenance after checking in the hotel. Also, I was disappointed at the housekeeping service. While I was away from my room for 5 hours in the morning and early afternoon for a business meeting, I noticed that my room was not cleaned. I also noticed that the housekeeping tended to clean in the afternoon, which did not make sense to me because they were cleaning after the check-in time when most people want to enter their rooms. Lastly, while the location was quiet, the walls appeared to have been extremely thin. I couldn't hear the actual conversations of my next door neighbors, but I could definitely hear their talking and voices.

Great stay in Portland!
We stayed at Hotel Modera for four nights to visit family. The location is great - an easy walk around downtown Portland and easy access for friends who were driving in from outside the city. We had only one bad experience the entire stay: we asked the valet if we could leave a car out front for 5 minutes while we ran back in the room to grab a few things. He informed us that it would cost us $10. Other than that, the staff was superb - always opening doors and helpful with directions. The room was spotless, and the bed was incredibly comfortable.
