Wonderful Portland hotel
Nice boutique hotel, we had no problems getting our car out of the valet parking, it was very prompt. We ate lunch at the hotel restaurant and it was excellent. Good bed with down pillows and comforter, flat screen TV, bathroom was well equipped and pleasant. The room had a safe and bathrobes. Front desk service very attentive. Central location in downtown Portland, which is a marvelous place. Fabulous value.

Couldn't have been better!
I grew up in Portland but haven't lived there for many years. It's so much fun to return and stay downtown and soak up the wonderful ambience. So much has changed over the years. Visiting old friends and family made returning to Phoenix difficult! But I couldn't stop taking pics of Hotel Modera's wonderful decor. So sleek and classy. The people at the front desk and the employees I met in elevators, hallways, etc. were very friendly and helpful. I hated to leave such a great place.

Superb Hotel
This was perhaps the best hotel I have ever stayed in. The rooms were clean, well-kept, the service was perfect. It was just a very nice place to "come home" to while I was in Portland. I would recommend it highly to anyone who was coming to visit this city.

peaceful and relaxing
The staff was friendly but relaxed; ready to answer any questions about the hotel or city, but not at all pushy or overbearing. I loved the quiet, laid-back feel of the smaller hotel tucked in a peaceful garden, and yet it was still first class dining and sleeping accomadations, with a MoMA feel. Note: probably not perfect for kids, but I have one well-behaved 11 yr old, and the staff were welcoming to him. They didn't hesitate to fix him a cheese pizza at dinner(not a menu item in the restaurant). Whole experience a little pricey, but worth it.

Everything I expected, Plus!
You can walk all of downtown Portland from this Hotel. Even though the public transportation is free, I found myself comfortably getting around and back to the hotel by foot. The rooms are clean and pleasant. People complain about the sliding bathroom door that doubles as a closet door being too loud when thrown open, but its the kind of thing you do once by accident, and then you know to be gentle with it, so it is a non issue.

Superb Hotel
I was passing through Portland for a night and wanted a nice hotel to rejuvenate after a couple weeks on the road during a hiking tour of the northwest. I was extremely pleased with the staff and room. The decor of the hotel was unlike any I've seen. Although it's a bit on the pricier side, I think it's a great value if your looking for a nice place to stay in downtown Portland, I hope to come back on my next trip.

Great location, great service BUT...
As soon as you pull into the Modera you are greeted by the valet and helped immediately. The lobby is beautiful and stylish. Rooms are small but immaculate and comfy. The hotel itself offers parking, but pricey. It should have been included without charge. One restaurant on the lobby floor. Good food, but expensive and not too many options. No pool! And no work out room. But they do offer passes to the small and over crowded 24hour gym a block away. I would have rated this 4stars if I hadn't received anonymous fees on my credit card. Before I checked out mind you... And parking fees was not one of them. Extra fees were almost as much as the room cost! Still waiting for explanation and reimbursement 2 days later! But a great location downtown, walking distance to many places, including the riverfront. But all in all. There are better places to stay in Portland for less money.
