Great Location, Great Ambience

This hotel is great for any type of traveller. It is very upmarket. The outdoor area has several firepits and tables to enjoy drinks in the evening and a very nice restaraunt. The location is central and you can walk to shopping, and eateries nearby. However, if you are a weary travellor or have been in meeting all day, you do not need to leave the hotel. It was extremely clean, modern and the beds were comfortable. It was a great experience.

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

If you like Japanese food, the restaraunt Shigezo is a few blocks away. They have a happy hour where you can stuff yourself on sushi and wine for very little money!

Great boutique style hotel

I stayed at the Modera recently while in town for business. The staff are naturally friendly, as one is in Portland. The rooms were nice and clean. They also give you a pass to the 24 Hour Fitness club around the corner. The streetcar is right outside and its a short walk to the Pioneer Square area. All around a great place to stay.

Perfect for my trip

I was in Portland for only one day and the hotel was perfect Hassle free and courteous staff. I do have one complaint that they have a couple of pre authorizations done on my card for incidentals. Hoping they clear that up pretty quick

Good choice for Arts District

Very handy to the performing arts center and to the art museum. Room was smallish, with just one bedside table/light, one drawer, no convenient place to recharge devices. Furniture and linens were above average in quality. Climate control didn't -- we couldn't cool the room below 73.

Nice hotel, would stay there again.

Staff was courteous and hospitable. The hotels and rooms were beautiful. The attached restaurant was trendy and fun. Public transit is really close, and you're also close to the university district. Shopping and trendier shops are further north and will require a bit of walking or short transit ride to get there. There is a 24 hour fitness a block away, which you have free access to. I wish there was a pool and hot tub located in the hotel itself though. Overall, not bad for $200 in downtown.

Great place to stay

Staff was super friendly and helpful. The rooms were so modern and stylist! Marble everywhere, super clean too. There was some kind of fur blanket on the bed. Very classy. Only thing I didn't prefer was the location of the gym, it was down the street. I would like it to be in the hotel. Besides that small detail, this place is the best place I've stayed in Portland. Free small bottles of wine upon check-in just because I told them I was having a rough day! :)

A Gem!

Parking was valet at $30 a night w/in n out. That's the norm. Hotel was older design (70's?) but looked modern and clean inside. Greeted with efficient and friendly staff. Check in was a breeze. No gym in hotel but they give free passes to the 24Hour Fitness that is in corner of the building. Good open room plan for the average size. Very inviting bed (could have been a bit more comfortable) and great sized bathroom. Room was a bit dark but not depressing. Free wifi.Very good bar/restaurant with additional outdoor seating that has the gas fire pits. Love them! Keeps you warm on a cool Portland night.
