Great Stay Great Place

On a business trip but would return with my family. Hotel and location is a perfect fit for both. Given the quality and ... location the price is a good deal. sure you can get much more fancy and expensive, but why? For a downtown hotel, this was quiet and restful, but there is some activity late and early. If you are a lite sleeper, stay out in the suburbs.

Many great places to dine all price ranges within a short walk - try the curb-side vendors. There are many to choose from and a great quick breakfast, lunch, or early dinner.

Bring an umbrella when you travel to Portland. I was there for a wedding and did not get to see much of the area. The max system was wonderful. I did not have to rent a car and it was only a five minute walk to the hotel from the drop off spot.

Daisy and Candy do Portland!

Awsome location in the heart of downtown Portland! Hotel staff was very friendly and a professional. Valet, doormen, desk ... personnel, and cleaning crew were all top notch. The bed and the bedding were out of this world!!! Although they offer a pillow service, I was completely satisfied with what was already there!!! I will definitely recommend Hotel Lucia to friends, and I look forward to returning!

I'll just start by saying I did not get a chance to try the Thai food in the hotel, but it smelt and looked amazing! I will definitely make time to do that on my next visit! Since it was a friends first time in town, we traveled to some nearby districts to sample local favorites... The Farm is amazing and will not disappoint! You must sample local brew if you are inclined... we did for breakfast, lunch and dinner!

Still our favorite hotel in PDX!

We LOVE this hotel! The location is great and the staff is attentive and friendly. They really know the city and can answer ... any questions from driving directions to places to eat. Although the rooms are a bit small they are comfortable and spotlessly clean. Our son lives in Portland and over the years we have tried many other hotels but the Lucia is now our first choice when visiting.

Beautifully decorated and clean lobby, hallways and rooms. Rooms are small. Staff super friendly and helpful. Location very ... convenient to downtown. Visited Powell's bookstore, Bite of Oregon, Saturday Public Market [all within walking distance as was shopping]. Excellent breakfast room service. Very disappointed with dinner at Typhoon Restaurant and the fact there was no record of our reservation. Not sure what caused problem. Front desk kindly made accommodations. We will return.

I travel to Portland, OR to visit my family at least once a year and this is my second time at the Hotel Lucia. I love its ... downtown location. The hotel is safe, clean, comfortable, and the staff is attentive. The rooms are small but nicely appointed with very comfortable beds and pillows. The bathrooms are delux! with Aveda products, plush towels and robes. I also take advantage of free Internet in its business center because I don't like to travel with my laptop. I plan to stay there again next year.

Easily the worst hotel experience in recent memory. Tiny room with a view of an air shaft. Surly deskman. Room not ready on ... arrival. No promised phone call to tell us when it was ready. Paper thin walls--we heard the speaker phone of the person next door on one side and the all-night bathroom usage of the guy on the other side, along with the explosive toilet flush. When we talked to the desk about these, we were blown off each time until we finally got fed up and talked to a senior manager who tried to make it right. It really screwed up a big chunk of our vacation. We won't be back.

Wish I Could Move In...
ChicagoTraveler May 27, 2009
My boyfriend and I stayed at this hotel for a friend's wedding weekend. We took a morning flight and the light rail from the ... airport dropped us off two blocks from the hotel property. The reception staff was friendly and arranged to check us in several hours before the normal check in time. Throughout our stay, all staff members were gracious and helpful - offering us restaurant suggestions and directions. The lobby is modern, and attached bar is small, but perfect for before or after dinner drinks. Although our room was quite small compared to others (NYC sized, but understood as we did check in so early), but stocked with fine linens, a big flatscreen and some of the softest robes I've ever seen. We opted out of the pillow menu, spiritual reading menu, and fully-stocked iPod for rent, but each was a nice touch. The walk-in closet made up for the small size of the room as it was able to hold all our luggage. All in all, this was one of my favorite hotel stays, and I would travel back to Portland just to stay here.

Avoid the chain restaurants near the hotel and walk about 15-20 minutes to either the waterfront or the Pearl District for great seafood and different restaurants.

We really enjoyed this hotel. It was very quiet and the staff was very helpful and polite. The rooms are quite small but we ... were upgraded to a bigger corner room free of charge, so we were happy. The bed was very comfortable, the bedding wonderful. Nice decor--fun photographs of celebrities everywhere. The only bummer was paying $30 a day for valet parking, but it was worth it not too worry about parking. Location is great--right in the center of everything. You can walk to department stores, Saturday Market, the Pearl District, Powell's books--everything is easy to get to.
