Convenient locale in Portland
This was a great location. We had a less expensive booking rate and so we were placed in a room overlooking the parking garage and at the end of the hotel nearest the street where the light rail ran at night and in the morning - a bit noisy. The place has been very nicely redone, has a nice bar and restaurant and is in a great area. Our room was a bit cramped.

Swank but small and noisy
Very noisy all night...walk in shower makes the entire room wet with moisture due to cold floor and windows. Very small room, difficult to move around. The TV only showed a portion of the screen and was of very poor quality for an HD tv....

Convenient locale in Portland
The hotel is nice but the room was small and a bit crowded. They had a nice bar area but we did not eat at the restaurant. We were put in a room that faced the parking lot and was closer to the light rail that made noise early in the morning. I think you should ask for a room that is not so packed, faces the river and is not on the end with the light rail and this place would be perfect! I suppose that room would cost more than we paid.

Money-saving tip:

The hotel is located on Portland's light rail system. From the airport it is $2.40 for adults and $1.00 for seniors, one-way. The hotel is also located in the free zone for public transportation. You can travel all over downtown at no cost. Great deal for sightseeing.,

Great for foot travel
The location is the best with much to see and do. The rooms are small (two people max.) and the parking is outrageously expensive ($22 vs.$27 valet) for an on premise hotel owned lot. Rooms on two sides of the building have the parking lot view, but the other two have wonderful views; choose wisely. Beds, linens and baths are great, but expect dry coffee creamer and McDonald's (SBC) coffee, and very little of it, in the rooms. This hotel needs some extra attention to detail to justify the expense. The TV service is LodgeNet which is deplorable, the comp newspaper didn't show, and the 25 cent stick pen left in the room says Office Depot. No souvenir from here!

ok but a lot of money for what you get
Good checkin and helpful front desk, but room smelled like someone had smoked in it or was smoking in a nearby room and it was coming in the vent. I was worried I would smell like smoke the next day at my business meeting. Pretty bare for the price. No minibar in room so you have to go downstairs or order room service.

Great hotel!
Easy checkin, room was clean, had a great view of the water, and a small fridge. Room was set up well with multiple desk outlets. Very refined and nice. Parking was $20/day, so you have to figure that in, or park across the street for $10.

Maybe I'm too old for this...
Chose this place for the location, and enjoy staying in boutique hotels. Not here for the party scene, however; on the way to a funeral. [...] Attempted to go to bed at 11pm. Loud outdoor concert sounded like it was right outside the window. Thinking it couldn't go on that long, hubby and I tried to wait it out. At 1am, called front desk to request ear plugs. At 1:45 went to front desk in jammies (he had forgotten to write down our room number to get back to us) to discover they had no ear plugs, but that bars typically closed at 2am, so...
