great location
Stayed at this hotel for 7 days and will stay there again when I go back. There was staff to help with the hot/cold breakfast buffet so everything was kept clean and the food was always fresh. I was very impressed by the complimentary breakfast. The location was ideal for visiting all around the Northern part of Oregon and some of Washington. There was plenty of shopping and restaurant all around. Only our room staff was a little disapointing..... we had to ask for shampoo and got it only the second day after leaving our note. They dropped our pjs on the floor and did not pick them up?!? The room was clean but we got the feeling they were doing it too fast for the job to be really well done. I loved having a sitting area with a desk and a loveseat. Overall great hotel!!

Portland
The Janzen Beach Holiday Inn Express met our need very well. The freeway is buffered by a large shopping center which made the stay very quite with the access to and from Portland is very direct. The price was a good value when you compared it to the hotels for the area. This was not my first pick but I'm glad that they had rooms available. I will strongly consider this location for future visits to the Portland area.

GOOD place to stay!
The hotel was just fine. Staff was VERY friendly and helpful. Breakfast was eggs, sausage/bacon, biscuits, gravy, etc. GOOD, easy location to drive to downtown. Minutes from airport and downtown. On the border of Washington, so a nice river beside it... :) Also a giant Target/mall/eating place practically next door.

convenient, affordable stay
Just what we were looking for--clean, comfortable, close to Portland, and amazing breakfast! It included scrambled and hard-boiled eggs, bacon, biscuits, gravy, a pancake maker, bread, English muffins, bagels, bananas, oatmeal, milk, yogurt, coffee and tea. They seemed to have run out of juice that day, though! Would stay there again anytime.

Antiquing at Portland Expo
very friendly personel and clean rooms. She brought us choc chip cookies at 9:00 pm since we missed the afternoon cookies! We will return. Even tho refurb construction was happening it was quiet and organized.
