Perfect Stay for My First Visit to Portland
This was the combination of perfect location & comfort for my first visit to Beautiful Portland Oregon. Great suite, very nicely appointed, comfortable and safe. The staff were fantastic, very professional & helpful. The only downside to my stay was the free breakfast. If you want a great breakfast, visit the Bijou Cafe across the street. Ideal place to stay for a weekend get away, I couldn't have been happier.

The Breakfast at Mothers Bistro is worth the visit. A short four blocks away, the wait is worth it. Try Mama Mia's for dinner & Voodoo Doughnut is right around the corner.

Great girl's night out
Spent a girls night out in Portland with my sister from out of town and had a blast. Room was clean, staff was courteous and we were walking distance to Saturday market and Powell's Bookstore. The manager's reception was great; had a few drinks and snacks before we headed out for dinner and more drinks. Highly recommend the Embassy.

Embassy Suites Portland
What a surprise. Abandon your stereotyped idea of what an Embassy Suites hotel looks like - this is a nearly 5 star hotel, well located near the Pearl, China Town and Downtown areas of Portland, and occupies a beautifully renovated old hotel - the Multinomah. They still have a free breakfast and afternoon Manager's Happy Hour, but they need to work on the lighting the space they use for it - but a real find!

Short walk from hotel
Use Portland's free downtown trams/trolleys/trains to get around - and visit the Art Museum and Powell's Book store - all within easy walking distance. Check our "Silk" and "Veritable Conundrum' restaurants and of course Oregon Pinot!

Nice, historic, massive place.
I would have given it 5 stars if the place wasn't surrounded by 'Gentleman's Clubs' and homeless begging from what seemed like every doorway within a block or two. Went for a short stroll looking for a place to eat, found the area unpleasant after dark and decided to have dinner at Prime, the restaurant there at the hotel (very good btw), excellent service. Close to the Saturday Market, convenient valet parking ($30 per day), and close to waterfront. Room was well adorned, clean and comfortable. Complimentary breakfast the next morning (included with room) was impressive, worth paying a little more for this place.

Fabulous Hotel
We chose this Embassy Suites due to its close proximity to our son's wedding venue. It could not have been better. It is a beautifully restored classic hotel-- clean, elegant and comfortable. All staff, from the bell staff to the housekeepers where the best! (You even get to select the time of day you'd like your room cleaned). Portland Prime, their on-site restaurant, served us one of the best meals we have ever enjoyed. This hotel experience made an already magnificent weekend even more perfect!

In Hotel
Use the valet parking. At $30.00 a day it sounded expensive but these young, energetic and courteous folks provided us with excellent service. They ran for our car as many times a day and we asked. They were quick and careful, helped us load and unload our unllimited wedding paraphernalia without complaint. Money well spent!

Nice place in not so nice a location
The hotel is an updated older hotel with a grand lobby and older elevators, etc. However, the rooms are updated nicely and the amenities of modern hotels are all available. The hotel was fine it was the location that was not so nice. It is near the river front and shoppting but also in an area swamped with homelss and shuttered businesses. Might be fine when traveling with young adults or large groups of adults for social events, but not good for traveling with children.

Nice stay
Stayed in Portland, walked the city. Happened to be there for the Rose parade. It would have been nice if hotel had marked off a section for hotel guests, since it passed by hotel. Hotel staff were very nice and attentive. Prime House had excellent food and fantastic hour. Dined and lunched at some very good places. We were pleasantly surprised and impressed with dining around town.
