There were ants crawling on the bathroom counter, there was a spider in the bathtub, the rug in the room looked like it had not been vacuumed in months and made me afraid to walk in bare feet on it, and the room smelled like stale tobacco.
Additionally, the bedspread had stains on it and the blanket looked dirty. Great price but not a great value considering the condition of the room. Fortunately, we only slept there and would not have had there been rooms in other places. Very disappointed in Econo Lodge. Do not recommend.
I thought the Econo Lodge was great! I was initially wary but it exceeded my expectations. Room was clean, everything worked perfectly, the TP and towels were folded lovingly and there were FOUR comfy pillows on my not-sagging bed. I had a room on
the second floor, all the way on the end, with a view of trees. Sure, I saw some interesting people outside, and maybe there was some cracked paint here and there, but the staff was great, the shower had good pressure, and the room was so cheap, that there was no legitimate thing to complain about. P.s. if your free WiFi doesn't work, either set it to Easy/no pop-up mode, or ask the front desk guy how to do it - he's a techie! My phone's internet worked fine anyway until the guy showed me what to do to activate the wifi, so no excuse if you can't get internet - you're just doing it wrong! :) Overall, the outside looked a little sketchy but the inside of the room was a very pleasant surprise and I would actually stay there again for a good night's sleep and solid shower.

Short drive from hotel
PINE STATE BISCUITS had the best fried chicken gravy bacon biscuit sandwich thing I've ever had and I live in NYC!
We were visiting friends in Portland and the hotel was about 5mi away. It would have been nice to have been closer but this was the best priced hotel we could find and it was clean and comfortable, so a little bit extra drive was worth it. I
would do it again.
