Perfect convention center venue

Valet parking was seamless. I called when I left the room and car was waiting when I got to the front door. Love the location for attending convention center function. Head and shoulders above other venues I have tried near the convention center.

Very convenient

We took the train to Portland for a conference at the Convention center. We walked from Union station to the hotel, had a nice breakfast at Charley's, the restaurant on the hotel property, and lo and behold, our room was ready at 8:30am! We checked in, walked to the convention center, walked to dinner that night at a different restaurant in town, and the next day, checked out and walked back to the train station. VERY convenient. The hotel was nice and clean. Very pleasant stay. A little expensive, but we needed no cab fares, had free coffee in the lobby int the morning... The little things add up.

Good choice

Nice but no frills. Maybe a little too expensive for what you get.

Buisiness trip getaway

The hotel is situated nicely for meetings at the Convention Center. I was not happy with the parking situation - valet/self park at the hotel ($21/18 per day) and not much nearby except metered parking. Food from the restaurant and bar were pretty good and it is such a beautiful place that I was just happy to be there. I might stay at this hotel again, but there are numerous options at about the same price point.

No breakfast included

The hotel was clean and the front desk staff was great. They told us many good brewpubs to visit that had our description of a good beer. They upgraded our room at no cost. The only thing that was off was that the orb... ad said there was a free breakfast and that was not the case.

Positive experience

The staff was extremely helpful in finding a place to eat. They have a shuttle that will take you and pick you up within a 3 mile radius of hotel. The rooms were in perfect condition. Two downfalls to the stay, they had a pool great for kids however no hot tub. Also the location was kinda shady a lot of homeless people hanging round. But all in all great experience and will stay again.

Perfectly OK

Slightly tired room interiors (noisy HVAC units, windows not very soundproof), though very nice staff and good bed/linens/pillows. Convenient to the convention center, though there isn't much else in the immediate vicinity. Paid $99/night. Decent value.

Wonderful 6-Night Visit

I was in Portland to visit my son and family and was looking for a nice hotel near their loft apartment, preference for a specific hotel brand property. This one popped up and I found a range of room rates on various hotel booking forums, and a variety of comments good and bad from the various review forums. This had the best room rate by far and I elected to risk the negative comments that didn't seem too heavy given the great rate I got. On a positive note, the hotel is in an exceptional location. The rooms are nicely-sized, quiet, comfortable, and well equipped. The staff is especially friendly and helpful. I had a great view toward the river of the Portland Convention Center and iconic Portland Oregon sign. All negative comments I saw were not born out for me personally. The most concerning was wi-fi connectivity. My iPad and iPhone connected in seconds without the ponderous protocols other hotels have, had more than sufficient bandwidth for everything I do, no need to buy the upgrade to the higher end wi-fi access. Some negative comments suggested the rooms were showing age. Mine was just a tad, but nothing like the comments I saw suggested. Mine was great for a six night stay. Some comments ping auto parking. I could see how that might be an issue with an internal garage and valet parking that did get filled on weekends, but I did not have a car on this visit to deal with that. There are also some negative comments on no complementary breakfast. For the rate I got, I don't care. The restaurant in the hotel looked very nice, and there are more than ample Starbucks, Wendy's, Denny's, etc just steps away if you don't want to use the hotel restaurant. But it’s Portland - odds are you tanked up more than you should the night before in one of the legendary eateries and a granola bar and complementary coffee/tea is all you need. All and all, it was a most positive experience, no issue at all with anything that mattered to me. I will stay there again the next time I go back to Portland.
