Good Hotel, really comfortable
We spent six nights at this hotel on our first trip to Portland. I was a little concerned about the neighborhood at first - amid a long row of used car businesses. However, we were very comfortable, enjoyed the waffles every morning, the staff were very friendly and interested in our comfort. The location worked for us - near enough to our Portland family, but not near restaurants or shopping. We needed to drive for those. We will probably stay there next time we go to Portland.

As other review stated, nicest 2-star hotel I've ever stayed at. Hot waffles, free parking, free intranet, indoor pool, elevator for 2nd and 3rd floors, clean and up to date room, very close to Max station, can't ask for more!

Good location for flyers.
We selected this hotel because it was close to both where our daughter works and lives. It turned out to be close to roads to going downtown and close to expressways getting us east and north of the city.

Clean, People-Friendly, Great Location
Very easy to find off the freeway. Easy on and off ramps either direction. Ask friendly desk staff for recommendations for restaurants nearby and how to get there. WiFi is a little clumsy. Use it downstairs at machine in lobby or bring (or use one of theirs) a cord to connect to LAN from their room. I prefer WiFi access from hotel rooms. Rooms are ample size. Quiet hotel. Some covered parking. This location is NOT in downtown Portland. Close to Providence Hospital. I come to Portland frequently, and this is my preference for a hotel every time. Wish I'd remembered my swimsuit!

Great home-made (not chain) pizza place about 1 mile away. All kinds of variations on crusts and toppings--even whole wheat or gluten-free. Ask desk staff for menu and driving directions.

Excellent Price
We were up in Portland for my son's motorcycle race and we needed a place just to crash at night that wasn't too expensive. It was further from the racetrack than I thought but it was a nice place. My only negative comment would be that the room smelled of smoke and I did have some breathing issues. It was not near any amenities except rail and bus depots.

Very visitor helpful
The comfort Inn was very comfortable and the staff was very helpful. Since we were first time visitors to Portland, we had many questions and they were quick to help. This Comfort Inn was close to the rail service so in a couple of minutes we could be at the rail station for a quick ride down town. I would recommend this motel to others and will go back if and when the opportunity presents itself.

Dining tip:
Short walk from hotel
There was a chain resturant across the street with the best pancakes in town. Since the motel had breakfast, we actully ate pancakes for dinner one evening. You are near (one block) an interstate highway and near a rail stop which can take you in ten minutes to downtown to any kind of resturant you want.
