Not worth the price

Would not recommend Wed, Oct 28, 2015
Too pricey for what you get. (200.00+) Very disappointing, I had always wanted to stay at the Benton. The lobby is beautiful, thought the rooms would be as well but the Rooms are ordinary, nothing to write home about. Rooms are noisy you can hear the street noise, we were awaken at 4:00 in the morning by a police siren. Rooms need renovating. The woman at the front desk was not helpful in the least. She asked us what brought us to the hotel, we told her we were in town for a concert and asked if the venue was far. She replied No period. The receptionist didn't even ask how our stay was when we check out. She just wanted to know how we wanted to pay for the parking which by the way was $35.00 not including the tip for the valet! they at least were very friendly and professional.

We enjoyed our room and spent a lot of time sitting and eating with family in the Palm Court of the beautiful lobby. Gracious old-time charm.

Marathon weekend

Would recommend Thu, Oct 8, 2015
I stayed here during the marathon weekend. It was walking distance to tons of good food and shopping spots. Very comfy bed. Only issue was the soundproofing of the windows. You could hear what was going on outside all the time. But it was a historic old hotel so that was expected.

Beautiful Historical Hotel

Would recommend Sun, Sep 27, 2015
The Benson Hotel was within walking distance of almost everything, including great public transportation. Downtown Portland has a big homeless problem that was everywhere we went, but they don't bother you. Food in Downtown was incredible!! Hotel was great, but bathroom was very small.

fine older hotel

Would recommend Sat, Sep 19, 2015
This is a fine older hotel in downtown Portland with an elegant lobby. My room was fine in every respect except one: the wifi connection was a bit spotty. The service in the dining room for breakfast was excellent. The staff were first rate. Altogether this was a pleasant experience.

Relax trip

Would recommend Thu, Jul 9, 2015
The lobby is really huge, but the concierge and check in counter are not clear to identify. The elevator are kind of old school. The room is good and clean. The bed is huge wide. Maybe can put three people on it.
