Great location - get a good deal

Everything was lovely - it's obviously a really old building that has been redone nicely, but because of that it's a bit squishy and the bathrooms are tiny. Compact spaces work though and we had enough room. The beds though - both of us slept poorly the entire time we were there. Not sure why as it seemed comfortable enough.

Downtown Portland

Hotel was in an an excellent spot, within walking distance to shops, restaurants. Visited Powells, a landmark book store, went to the Saturday open air market and never saw such beautiful produce, spices and more in one place. This was more of a family visit so not a lot of sight seeing, but did take time to see the falls about an hour drive away and it was spectacular.

Nice Hotel in a great location

Friendly staff, great rooms and more! This really is a historic hotel, but the rooms are very modern and nice. The location is perfect for walking around Portland. Oh-if you like beer stop by Bailey's Taphouse almost next door. Skip the car and make an adventure in Portland walking, biking or taking the great public transportation. The Benson is perfectly located and I think you'll love the lobby decor and the great bellmen too. Highly recommend this hotel!

52nd Wedding Anniversary Stay

Joe and I were very pleasantly surprised at the lovely appearance of this 101 year old hotel. It has been exceptionately well maintained and was a pleasure to see such excellent craftmanship displayed. Our room was an adequate size, though I have to agree with other comments, on the lack of shelf space in the bathroom. The bathroom was very well appointed and the shower was divine! Plenty of hot water for both our showers. Definitely will make this our stay the next time we come down from Seattle to Portland.

Perfect place to stay in Portland

We loved The Benson. Traveling with my 20 year old daughter, I wanted us to be central and coddled, and we were. Our room was beautiful and well-equipped, and the staff members were all friendly and helpful, as was just about everyone else we met in Portland. Highly recommended.
