La Quinta Inn & Suites Newport

My family enjoyed their stay here, was a little bit pricy for being an older hotel. But the pool was the reason we booked this place. Breakfast was great, and cookies and candy at the front desk was fun for the kids. I liked tht there was a dvd player and directv. Bed linens were very clean and the beds were very comfortable! I also loved the orange and cream smell of the shampoo :) I would stay here again.

The room was very clean and pleasant. During the night it was very quiet and peaceful so we had a good nights rest. Well worth staying at.

We just needed a place to sleep. It was clean and very adequate. Loved Newport !!!

The motel was in a quiet place, but within walking distance of the Oregon Coast Aquarium which was a tremendous place to visit. Also, within walking distance of the Rogue Brewery and Restaurant. The staff was exceptionally helpful and the Room was very clean and comfortable.

We had called ahead to let them know we would be a late arrival. It wasn't a problem at all. Check-in was fast and easy. We had booked our room through [...]. The rooms are clean and the price was good. They do allow dogs and we were able to bring ours. Hotel staff was nice and friendly. The only thing I would suggest is that house keeping leave doors to the guest rooms open when cleaning. The area is quit and has a very nice little shopping area behind the hotel that is next door. Very nice place to stay. We didn't have anything missing, but we didn't leave anything such as cell phones, lap top, DVD players or other items that would interest anyone looking to take items.

The rooms were clean, but on the small side. The staff was helpful and quite attentive, though they did not do a particularly great job keeping pool towels stocked.

The Price I paid for our 25th Silver Anniversary wasn't worth it. Its sad to say I was very upset with the fact the hotel smelled musty and had animal smell.When we got there we were put into a room that had horrible pet odor so I asked to be switched to a NON pet room, upon entering the room I pulled the blankets back to inspect and there was hair on the sheets as if it were never changed, so we pulled the blankets back up and slept on top using our own blanket,We picked the location because we love the beach and figured we could use the spa to relax ,upon entering the pool area we noticed the pool had yellow mustard algae as well as the spa we were highly disappointed,my husband worked for a pool and spa company and knew what the issue was. They need to treat it with the proper chemicals A.S.A.P.,we then went to take a shower and the shower diverter was put in backwards the cold was hot and vice versa and when you pulled the knob to have a shower water ran out of both ends which means either the washer or seat needs to be replaced if not both I did mention it to the lady behind the counter on the way out because if a child were to shower and get scalded like I did they could be sued. Location was good. I feel we should have gotten a refund due to the condition of the room the lady behind the counter didn't seem to concerned about my concern on the room sad because it could be a beautiful place to stay if taken care of in the proper manner!AS any rental property CURB appeal and inside appearance makes a big difference.Good luck to others staying there.

The bed was excellent, everything was clean. I've stayed at La Quinta's elsewhere, and had excellent breakfasts there. This one, however, left a bit to be desired. The coffee was burnt, and there was no whole grain selection of *anything*.

Our first room wreaked of mold when we first got there. The unorganized front desk staff gave keys to our room to another family. There were stains on the side of the nightstand, one of the comforters on the beds smells like cologne, both comforters were stained, one of the folded towels on the side of the tub were still wet and smelled like mildew, and the walls above the shower were covered in mold. They second room they gave us smelled better, but the walls above the shower were still covered in mold. In general this whole place is dirty. You can see black stains on all of the doors and walls where people have repeatedly put their hands.

on the second night, there was an evacuation due to a fire in the staff laundryroom, management returned to duty promptly, both they and the staff was very helpful and ran blankets to the guests waiting in the lot,due to the time of night and the bone chilling cold, they offered refuge in the nearby hotel, lobby ,they went so far above and beyond the call of duty, it was absolutely amazing. afterward, we were given extra nights, tho it was not necessary for our satisfaction, we were so very impressed with the efforts of the staff and the management that we WILL most certainly frequent that particular hotel and highly recommend staying there to our friends and loved ones ... thank you harold merickel
