Was ok. Would not stay again, find one of the many closer to town and shops. We rented a pet room online but still had to pay extra when we arrived for a 12 pound dog and room smelled of wet dog upon arrival. There are two restaurants on site but do not order as food was not good at all. Hot tub was not very warm either. Staff was fine, average. Not the easiest hotel to get around at but there was a nice beach just a short steep walk away.

GM brilliantly dealt w/ difficult issue!
XXX Walked on the beach until 10pm; 55° no wind. XXX Ordered dinner to go from the bar. XXX Walk Downtown Newport; love the dog friendly restaurant patios; "The Rogue" and the "Local Ocean." XXX Excellent stay!!! XXX We don't vacation to the beach much, even thou we live fairly close.

Awesome Stay!
We visited the Rogue Brewery...walked on the beach and just relaxed..so all in all we enjoyed our stay very much despite the odd smell...we just opened the sliding glass door and aired it out for awhile.

Life is good!
Nice place but too expensive!
This hotel is overpriced. It is a great location and the staff is friendly. Unfortunately, it lacks the style of an old elegant hotel and the comfort of one with new technologies. To be a good value, the price would need to be reduced by 30-40%.

The positives: When we checked in the lady at the front desk was very nice and gave us the AAA discount. The Rookies Sports Bar was awesome--The bar tender was friendly and the atmosphere was great. The beach was easily accessible. The negatives: When I booked the room on-line it said it was a room with a "hillside view". It was a ground level room that looked out on the lower-level parking lot and a bank. The room was small (esp. the bathroom), dark, and smelly. The furniture/appliances were very outdated. We were right next to the pool so there was a lot of noise/traffic past our room, even late at night. Not a pleasant place to relax in, but if you plan not spending much time in your room it might work for you. The oceanview rooms on upper floors may be worth the extra $$ if you plan to stay. I'm a Best Western fan but in my opinion, this one was way too overpriced.

What a beautiful view!
Had a great time on the dunes and combing the beach. Fantastic view room and friendly staff. Great food and a nice gift shop. Staff helpful about what to do around town for first time visitors. We ended up watching fireworks from a bay cruise. A great way to spend the 4th!

Nye Beach is worth the effort - merchants are extremely friendly and the merchandise is not overpriced.

Everything you could want in a hotel
We enjoyed our stay at Best Western Agate Beach Inn. The amenities were amazing and we were never bored.A family could stay at the hotel and never have to leave to find something to do, it's all there, right down to the cute little arcade room!!! The security was a plus!

Check out the Yaquina lighthouse. Its just a short drive(or a good walk, if you prefer)from the hotel and you can climb the spiral staircase up to the top and look back at the beach and see the hotel. You can see the lighthouse from the ocean view rooms.
