This is a great location for what we want when we are on the coast. The sights and sounds from your room. Nothing like ... listening to the ocean as you are nodding off or waking up. Seeing the sunset and sunrise from your room over the ocean, was just what we wanted.

SMELLY!!
First Anniversary gone awry Sep 29, 2009
The location of the hotel was pretty nice because it was right by the beach. Everything else was horrible. The first room ... they sent us in smelled like really bad armpits. We told the clerk at the front desk and he gave us a key to the room next door. Which turned out to be a little better, but still had such a strong, nasty odor. We went back to the clerk and he was kind of rude about it and pretty much said there wasn't anything they could do except try another room. In the end, we were bounced around FOUR times then finally settled into something decent. It still smelled, but we just opened up the door and aired it out for about 5 hours. My husband and I went shopping, ate at a restaurant and watched a movie, just to avoid coming back to the hotel.

ocean dreams
beach lover Sep 12, 2009
W had a wonderful time. The only problem was we needed to use a iron and it had icky stuff on the bottom and I had to go get ... another as the front desk/staff was busy. The front desk gal took time to go get one herself and while she was gone the phone rang and some male employee (supervisor ?) from the back yelled for someone to get the phone and then the gal happened to come back in time for him to walk out and jump her for NOT answering the phone. I felt that was uncalled for and hoped that wasn't the practice of this employees habits. I felt bad for the gal. Other than that we had a wonderful time and hope to come back.

Great Oregon Coast Location
Ocean Beaches lover Aug 28, 2009
This is a very nice place, in a great location. Very reasonable price and the inclusion of a continental breakfast was ... delightful. View was terrific and access to the beach was very easy. Was very surprised that such a quality establishment would skimp on something as important as bedding. It was clean, however the "fitted" bottom sheet did not fit the king sized bed. Got up several times in the night to put it back on. The comforter was again very poor quality - each square had a bunched up piece of batting in the middle of it, leaving the rest of the square with only the shell. Was very nice to see eco-friendly bath amenities. We will definitely visit the Surftides again, but bring our own bedding.

Went for a wedding south in Licoln City, and for time on the beach with family. The beach behind the hotel was nice. The ... rooms were clean, but pretty small. The first night, we were in a room close to the restaurant, and the bar music was too loud, and we could hear the person in the next rrom's bathroom. The manager moved us to a better room for the next night. The second room was much better. Quiet.

Drew Aug 1, 2009
Well I first went into the lobby and didnt get helped for 20 min because the three people working there were helping one ... person! Then I finally got helped and got my room and went to it, walked into the worst smell ever!! The room smelled like a cat sprayed all over the room so me and my girlfriend went back to the lobby to get our room changed. We got there and waited another 10 minutes then told them what was up. The staff did switch our room but we did not get one apology or anything! I could not believe it! This staff couldnt even tell me which way to go to find my room. Never will stay there again unless something drastically changes.

The hotel recycles! TV volume would cut out, no remote for DVD player. The hotel still uses keys not key cards! Staff ... new nothing of the town and could not suggest any restraunts nearby, nor did they know the name of their wifi network when I was trying to connect. I had to try the various networks available until I found the correct one. NOT recommended for business travellers or anyone that requires wifi on their trip.

One of the information packets available near the bathrooms in the outlet mall has a slip that can be traded in for a coupon book for all of the stores. Check this out prior to shopping to make sure you get the best deals. Also, the prices for the big name brands are very low.
