River House Inn

The motel is located right in old town Florence. You can walk to the coffee shops and restaurants. The place looks average from the outside, but the rooms are all updated. Really quite beautiful, including the bedding.

Some units on the river but it is next to Florence's "Old Town" which has tourist shops and good restaurants. Pillows were horrible, bathroom very small but room was clean. Check in clerk was less than happy and even with the location the room was over priced.

I made a trip from Seattle to San Francisco and this hotel was one of the nicer ones. We had a room on the 2nd floor with nice view on the river. The room was of very good taste and had everything I needed. It was quite and the balcony was nice.

The best part about this hotel is it's a stone's throw from the quaint, historic waterfront area. Lots to see and eat! There are two sections to this hotel–one that faces the river, which seems to be newer, and one that is "off-river" and what I think is the older section, where we were. Our room was decent, but very small (I marked the comfort level "average" for this reason.) Good wi-fi. The beds were firm but comfortable, and the cleanliness was ok, except we had to rinse our coffee pot before use, there was quite an accumulation of dust behind the end table and there was an unpleasant, suspicious looking stain on the foot cover of one of the beds. No air-conditioning, but there was a ceiling fan which helped somewhat with the stuffiness in the room. Summer rates at the coast are high, so I felt the cost/value ratio wasn't quite there, but it seems to be the going rate for comparable lodging.

Rooms were fairly clean, although there is a "old carpet smell" on entering the room. We stayed two nights, but shampoos weren't replenished after the first night, so we made do with what's left as I was too lazy to call and get some more. Since it was fairly close to highway 101, there was some road noise, so at night, it was either open the window and get fresh air, or close the window to reduce noise.

Actual keys, no "cards that get wiped out near a cell phone". Good restaurants nearby. We went to the Bridgewater. Live music at a walk-in cafe down the street. Just there for the night, I would go back. Located on Bay Street, right off 101.

This is a nice hotel tucked away in the "Old Town" part of Florence. The room was a good size with all the amenities (fridge, desk, etc.). The view of the river was beautiful. The free breakfast in the morning was also very nice with waffles, yogurt, fruit, breads, etc.

The river front room was quaint and had a king size bed with a small private deck overlooking the Siuslaw river. Very nice view. The motel is within 1 block of "old town" which has plenty of shops and restaurants. The bad: toilet hadn't been cleaned in a month and spiders were crawling all over the ceiling. For the price I expected better.

Second time staying here on the river. Great location in the Old Town area, easy walk to shops and restaurants, including the Waterfront Depot. Easy drive south to the incredible Oregon Dunes and north to Heceta Head Lighthouse. Good breakfast and friendly staff.
