Economy Inn - Florence
While in Florence, you must try the restaurant at Driftwood Shores Resort. It has great food and an ocean view. The Economy Inn has large rooms and a nice pool. The ice machine was broken during my one night stay and that is an inconvenience that should not occur. Check in time of 3:00 was strickly enforced and I had to wait one hour because I arrived early. Ok for sleeping but if you are on vacation for more than 2 nights, I recommend Driftwood Shores Resort because it is on the ocean.

Sightseeing tip:
Short walk from hotel
If you are with kids, within a block or two is a place to rent dune surf boards. After you pick them up, go to the Fred Meyer store just blocks away and park. Behind Fred Meyer are sand dunes you can surf. Don't forget your video camera!

Worst Motel on Our Vacation
This room was not all that bad. It was roomy and clean, but since it was the most expensive room we booked for a twelve-day trip from Monterrey to Astoria, we were disappointed. Because of my previous back surgeries, we had requested a downstairs room - we got one upstairs and no elevator. The room had no luggage rack (that little fold out thing to place the suitcase on instead of on the floor), and I was told by the office that "We don't have those things here", as if I was asking for an in-room Jaccuzi. We also had no air conditioner - "It'll be dark soon, and then it'll cool off." To top it off, no coffee service in the room or in the office. Had to drive a couple of miles into town for my morning coffee.

No Frills
We were in Florence to pick up our Son at the nearby Scout Camp.The room was sparse,no artwork,no shampoo,not much in the way of amenities.To high priced for what you get.We will shop around a bit more for a nicer place next time.
