Great staff
Without such an accommodating staff my impression would have been extremely negative. Unfortunately because it was move-in weekend at U of O some of the guests were very rowdy. They stayed up all night and interrupted my sleep. The staff spoke to them when I complained. When they started up again early in the morning I brought my concerns to the new staff on duty and was not only offerred an apology but also a refund without my asking.

Days Inn...Need of Renovation and New Management
**Good** 1. Location, close to University of Oregon, public transportation, supermarket, restaurants. 2. Low price 3. Polite Staff (but ineffective) 4. They offer a free (but low quality, cereal and coffee) breakfast in the morning. 5. Free Parking 6. Free daily newspaper **Bad** 1. Outdated décor 2. Uncomfortable bed (hard as a rock) 3. Bizarre Room Key (easy to lose) 4. Room not 100% clean (more like 40%) 5. Did not get turn down service the next day. 6. Bathroom sink drain plug broken 7. Coffee pot was dirty and smelled odd 8. Sheets and comforter were itchy 9. Room smelled bizarre 10. There was a hole in the wall partially covered by a piece of glued on wallpaper 11. The bathroom fan was louder than a Jerry Bruckheimer film and did not work. I know that paying a lower price sometimes means that you do not get everything you want but I have stayed in several of their competing hotels that was the same price and had a great stay so I know that you can still offer good accommodations at a low price. Normally, I would switch rooms but they unfortunately were all like this. The front desk staff was nice but they were young students who clearly had no power in what happened in the hotel. At one point, I decided to leave the room and go for a walk but that proved uncomfortable as well since both nights, there were groups of drunk college students wreaking havoc in the area which made for a fearful walk for this single lady traveler. Over my travel life, I have stayed at worst places but what is most disappointing is that this is a major chain that promises a clean and comfortable stay so I would like to think I can trust what I am being told when I hand over my hard earned money. This will just be one hotel that I will cross off my list as places I will not return to. If you are visiting Eugene for a weekend I would advise you to spend the extra $10 a night and stay at one of the other competing hotels in the area, you will get a better night’s sleep and a room where everything actually works.

I was in Eugene visiting a friend. I usually stay in Days Inn but this place was too old with low room service.

Comfortable and convenient
We stayed overnight before the UofO orientation. It was convenient in its location to the campus just across the street. The room was clean albeit a little outdated. The staff was really friendly and the free continental breakfast was nice.

ehhh....
I stayed here to attend a college football game and it wasn't too long of a walk to the stadium but the room left a bit to be desired. I had an end unit and I listened to what sounded like a water drain pipe all night (it wasn't raining). The room had a stale smell to it and the fan in the bathroom sounded like a small plane trying to take off. I opened the mini fridge/freezer and decided there was no way I would put anything in it. It may have been the source of the smell. This hotel is in need of a make over/update. It will be EXTREMELY handy to stay there once the new basketball stadium opens however.

Clean, safe, convenient
Quick overnight trip for me. Breakfast provided by Days Inn was skimpy except for English muffins, which were delicious. The bathroom should have been cleaner, it was pretty worn out.

The good the bad and the ugly!
We had stayed at this hotel a few weeks before and just thought it would be easy to stay there again. Our experience wasn't as positive as the TV wasn't working, the bathroom door was broken and didn't shut, and it was pretty dirty. It was small and cramped for the two of us. There is some restaurants and grocery store around. Eugene is a little spread out and it was difficult to find our way back to the hotel in the dark after we had gone to see a movie at the mall. The breakfast was poor - very little to choose from and nothing fresh. There was a fridge and mirco wave which was nice.
