UO Baseball Camp

While my son stayed @ the U of O dorm I stayed at the Campus Inn. During the day I was also at the camp watching him perform. The room had a king size bed, which was comfortable, but it took up so much of the room that getting around was awkward. If my son stayed with me, there would have been too many people. Although there was a computer for guest use, there was no printer and I went to Staples to print my Southwest boarding passes. This was inconvenient. I worked out twice in the "fitness area" on the only treadmill and there was no tv to help pass the time. Fortunately I was the only one doing cardio; there were 2 universal weight machines. It is the prototypical motel where you park in front of your room or nearby. The people are nice, the air conditioners were noisy, and the complimentary breakfast was "on the go" as there was no seating area. Don't expect a lot but it is adequate for basic needs.

Shopping tip: Short drive from hotel

A wonderful place to shop or get a good sandwich is a place called "The Market of Choice" on Franklin, east of this motel about 5 minutes. It is a large natural foods market and grocery store. Lots of wine and a selection of locally roasted coffees.

Campus Inn and Suites

Front desk service is very good. But the room had strong odor. We told the front desk and she changed the room. But the second room had the same type of odor, very strong. So we didn't change and just stayed in the first room. We had hard time to fall into sleep because of the odor.

after check-in,our card keys wouldn't work. it took four tries by the clerk to reprogram them to get it right. probably a software glitch.they were very apologetic and gracious about it and made sure we were ok.

Missing amenities

When we arrived there were not enough towels or washcloths. Also there was no shampoo/conditioner. We also wish they had told us about the trains that travel near the hotel and blow their whistle.

very helpful and friendly

The room was very clean and comfrtable. The motel provided a continental breakfast which was very good. The location was close to campus and was surrounded by several restaurants and close to downtown.

a great deal for the price

considering what i paid per night, it more than met expectations: clean room, decent bed, two sinks (one in bathroom, another by closet), walking distance from shops and restaurants, free breakfast, and free parking!

the main downtown business district is a few blocks away. while the restaurants do stay open relatively late, all the nearby shops close at 6pm.
